Lots of stairs. Friendly bar staff. Quirky venue. Nice drinks range. Roof top bar not the best view but colourful tables, chairs and bar with straw roof make up for it.
Lost a star as they didn't let my partner in to join myself and a friend for after work drinks. He was wearing trainers, plain blue shorts and a black shirt. Clean clothes with no holes or stains. Felt was a bit unfair.response / report this review -

They have huge liquor options and I had the light and enjoyed it. and also few food options. Everything is amazing and cool!!!Good group of Patriots who also provided some entertainment. That you for your service. Had an amazing experience at The Carlton Club

$15 Wednesday Steak meal so worth it! Big, tender, heaps of fries, salad and onion rings to go with it. Cooked perfectly. Definitely no complaints from me! Decor nearly turned us away coming up the stairs but so glad we weren’t snobs..

Multi level, funky designed bar. Good for causal after work drinks or cheeky drinks on sat or Sunday. On Saturday night gets really busy but fun place to have a dance. Top level is a good rooftop, good for nice weather. First level has outdoor covered area ok even in Melbourne winters.

The Carlton Club is a great place to come and hangout with friends and enjoy a quirky atmosphere from the felt covered statues to its huge Giraffe head.
Drinks are fair priced, while this is mostly true some Alcohol pricing is questionable. Basic 'food' manu looks good too.
If your looking to have some drinks and have a pretty casual hangout this is a must do.
The only real complaint which happens every now and then, is that the music near the booth seats can be a little too loud. Making it harder to chat amongst friends.
Overall cleanliness is good too, though if someone spills a drink on the seats you will notice it as some seating is covered in suede.

The Carlton Club is a great venue for a drink after work - great rooftop and outdoor spaces. Eclectic inside and out.

Went on a sat night- really full. Took ages ( 15 minutes standing at the bar!) to get a drink because not well staffed. There was also a private function on so could only stay on one level to dance and the music wasn't great for dancing. Carlton club used to be better and guaranteed for dancing but not anymore.

Loved it's numerous floors and out door smoking areas. Inside the decor is very interesting. Nice place for catch up drinks

The bar has a very good vibe and feel due to moody lighting and plush materials, there are also some animal structures which was quite a surprise

Terrible place. Don't go here! We went for a uni party, we weren't even there for 20 minutes and a guy had pushed into my boyfriend and step on my toes it was very rude but he walked away and we didn't think anything of it- until my boyfriend was escorted out by a bouncer. He would not say why although I followed them out and asked about 6 times. We got outside and he said- you bumped the manager and were aggressive so your out mate.I would not stand for that- the man had shoved us and was a disgusting pig. So we fought with 5 bouncers demanding to speak with the manager. We finally did and my poor boyfriend who's been assaulted had to grovel. We begrudgingly went walked back in with my throbbing feet that this elitist manager stepped. This is a disgusting place with no decency, I just feel bad for the bouncer who have to kick out innocent victims of assault night in night out at the instruction of the most fowl man I've ever met. The drinks were also gross and over priced, the bathrooms were a mess and there's no space to dance. Just disgraceful.

The bouncers have the personality of a wet blanket. They are your establishments first impression. Grunting is not very welcoming. When two sober, older women turn up, a friendly, "Hello ladies" would be nice. Also when I purchased my first (and only) beer I was ripped off $4. The girl behind the bar was an expert at this shameless deceptive act. She clearly stated the change amount of $8, which was wrong and handed me the money. I said, "It should be $12" but she had quickly taken off to the darkened back area of the bar and hovered there, glancing over her shoulder to see if I had gone. She waited. I waited. Other barmen asked if I was ok for a drink. I told them the girl had given me the wrong change and they walked away knowingly. Maybe they do it too? When she returned about 3 mins later. She knew what she had done and without speaking refunded me the $4. Dodgy and untrustworthy service is a major put off. There are so many pubs in the city. I will not be returning to this one. It is a shame because I liked the garden balcony.

Fun club with awesome decor and decent drink specials. Be better with a slightly bigger dance floor but the DJs were good. Need to have freely accessible water as you shouldn't be scowled at for asking for some and it's a pain to have line up every time you want a cup.

This place is a bit touch and go. Sometimes have a great night here and other times not so much. The staff ate always great, friendly and attentive, but the crowd can really ruin a night

Very nice place. Open all times, they didn't allow a friend on mine in though, the reason? Was very casual dressed 😕😕
