Haven't eaten here in ages as the couple of times we tried, the food was ok, nothing startling for the price - however, the service terrible . We ordered delivery and after an hour waiting, I rang only to get the owner complain about his staff being useless - who wants to hear that? Finally arrived an hour and a half after we'd ordered, missing something. When I rang back I got more complaining and he said "We'll fix it next time", no apology. Unfortunately this is my only gripe living in the mountains, sometimes there isn't competiton for certain cuisines and as a result, they think it's ok to be either a. overpriced or b. rude. When I lived in the inner west we had several Indian options within 10 mins of us. Star of India would have been out of business there.
The food was good and our junior waitress was absolutely amazing, However the older head waitress was absolutely disrespectful, came here last month to dine in and we paid $90 for our meal only to be stopped and told to go eat in the park because we were not vaccinated very terrible service and its a shame it was coming from Someone with "experience" in the industry.
I would love to support local, but the food was pretty poor and very very expensive. Palak paneer takeaway contained only 5 1/2 pieces of paneer, leaving behind a huge container full of sauce (see photo) which had a weird taste very different to other places. The garlic naan was just a naan with a blob of garlic paste sitting in the middle.
It was fairly good. And the staff were really friendly
I liked the food here. It was amazing how the chef was able to work around the menu to suit our preference. I will the service was a bit quicker. As I know almost all restaurants reheat prepared food so I wish it was more quicker. Overall I will come back.
Please don’t waste your night and money, not worth a penny.
Best vindaloo curry east of Perth
Had a lovely meal at the Star of India.
We both think this restaurant is making the best Indian food in the Blue Mountains.
Highly recommend for eat in or take away.
Great food; every course an absolute treat!
A great Indian food in the OZ land! Warmth and welcoming place. Priced very reasonable, must try some delicious butter chicken and Indian savoury, samosa😬
Far too expensive for the quality of food -minimum $50 for any order *plus* an extra $10 for delivery in the adjacent suburb! No thanks!
I don't know how anyone could wreck the most basic dish butter chicken but they have. It was as if we asked for the hottest dish on the menu.
Always yummy, quick service.
Me and my partner stayed at glenbrook for the weekend, we turned up on saterday night with a nice bottle of red, we eat a lot of Indian food and found this to be of a high quality every dish was amazing, good sized portions at a very reasonable price, the staff were all warm and welcoming, we will be back next time we are in the area.
Awful experience. Full of color, salt-less, tasteless food.
