I love my appointments at royals hair. I had the pleasure of having Mona. She sat me down asked all the right questions. I never have anything bad to say about my appointments. I've always walked out happy.
Starting going to royals earlier this year and I love it!
Robert is an amazing stylist, he’s lovely and super knowledgeable, I always leave with healthy, silky hair, and gorgeous colour and cut!
It’s such a friendly atmosphere I highly recommend checking them out.
The caviar treatment was great and made my dull hair look smooth and shiny. The stylist Cameron was awesome and provided information about everything. I loved my hair and enjoyed my time at Royals! Thank you Cameron and all the staff.
Robert is absolutely amazing! He is extremely personable, professional and talented. He did an amazing hair transformation on me and I couldn't be happier. You have found a loyal customer in me.
I love Royals at Castle Hill! I have been going to them for almost 4 years. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. The stylists are all very experienced and talented.
Taylor and Linda have looked after me and they are both extremely talented. I have short hair which is very thick and grows quickly. Taylor was able to take me from shoulder length hair to a short pixie. She patiently listened to my request and together we created a vision which she was able to make reality.
Linda has looked after me when Taylor has been away and she is such a great stylist that she was able to step in and style my hair to perfection. She is extremely talented and creative and so lovely!
All the staff are amazing!
Great advice on what will suit your hair best amazing staff amd great results!
Elie knew what he was doing and did an amazing job, highly recommend :)
Emm C you are a wonder. Having a little lady that would only let a family friend touch her hair after a very bad experience you made the whole thing easy and gentle. We were in such a bind trying to get her haircut before a family holiday. You were able to fix and even out her hair. She loved the entire time she was in your chair. The extra touches and pampering were just what she needed to gain her confidence with other professionals touching her hair. We can't thank you enough.
ABSOLUTELY THE WORST HAIRDRESSER EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD!!!
I have only been going to this salon for about 3 months and it was my first time for a colour. I felt like a young school girls shoved in a corner and a big inconvenience. I felt so uncomfortable. I was told there was not enough time to complete the colour I was after (which was 3.5 hours) and which then i ended up spending more than 2 hours of my 3.5 just waiting around. The colour was only put in roots and left on for 40 minutes longer than first explained then which then led to not enough time for the colour to be completed properly. I ended up finishing off with my hair looking exactly the same as when i walked in. After complaining about my experience I was still charged the full fee. When further complaining, all they offered me was to come back another time within 2 weeks to get it redone. Working 4 days per week and a young family with limited babysitting, I told them this was not suitable as I would not be able to get there for another 4 hours and i was told " I'm sure you can just work something out" Then after being told the manger would contact me to discuss further options to compensate me, I am still waiting for that call from Saturday afternoon 48 hours later. So clearly they don't care enough about new clients that are unhappy.
I have never written a complaint about any business before, but after this experience and the way it was handled I thought it was only right to share.
I have been a Royals customer since it was called Shoo be Do!!! Royals is getting better and better each year. Service has been very good. I've stuck around for so long all because of my hairdresser, Linda. I have trusted her with my hair for so long that I often come into the salon and tell her, "Do what you think will look good" and leave her to it. The result is always amazing and I'm often complimented on how my hair looks..from how healthy it is, to the colour and then to the styled cut. For those who commented on the price, there's a saying, 'You get what you pay for'.I am especially fussy with my hair and therefore ask for an experienced stylist because I need someone who knows what they're doing. Highly recommend this place and if you want to book Linda, book early.she gets booked out quickly!!!!
As soon as you step in the doors of Royals at Castle Hill you will automatically feel welcome! You could walk in with a certain idea for what you want and the team here would make it happen! The friendly staff at not only amazing people but their work is amazing! My favourite of all is Master Stylist Linda.
I 100% recommend to anybody who wants to transform their hair to come here! because you'll become that lady or guy everyone will envy because of the amazing hair you have!
Linda cut my hair short on Monday, and I can't express how happy I am with her styling, her customers service and and the fact that she takes note of what you want before cutting your hair.
She also explained every step and products used.
This was my first time at Royals, and I will definitely be back to see Linda again : ))) very happy with my new hair :) Royals should be happy for having Linda
I have found my new hairdresser! I had about given up on ever feeling like I had nice hair for a long time, I could not even bare the look of it untied. Linda took the time to talk about my hair goals and what I wanted/didn't like. I honestly did not expect such an amazing result. After years of bad luck with hairdressers I actually trust Linda, she took so much care with my highly damaged hair when I thought it would definitely break off and turn to jelly, it was as healthy with no breakage as she used the right products and expertise. Amazing hairdresser with the ability to listen and understand. I now have a hot blonde bob which I can rock every day. Love it!
I had the awesome experience of being under the professional care and artistic flair of Emma Jay a few months ago. It was my birthday in late March and the whole team were so wonderful in their service from the champagne to the luscious head massage and uplifting banter. The ambience of the salon too is just beautiful with the Morocco theme. I felt like I was in an exotic paradise and totally forgot I was in little old Castle Hill in a shopping mall. Th cut that Emma did for me was better than even I had imagined. Pixie cut transformation success!! = ) It's still looking very cute and fun even so many months later too, which just goes to show how well the cut was done. Thanks to the team at Royals Hair and keep doing what you're doing. Wish I wasn't so far away and working 6 days so I could come back. But if I can I will!
Very disappointed with my experience here at Royals. My trip to the hairdresser was a present from my boyfriend of which he gave me $250 (which in previous cases was well enough money for me to get my hair done as it is shoulder length). I arrived at the salon to have my consultation with Hairdresser A, to my disbelief I was quoted $320 for a cut, full head of foils with treatment and blow dry- not wanting to be rude I asked was it possible to get it down to $250 to which I was told that I could receive my hair without the treatment but it would be "dead" as it was a blonder look I wanted to achieve but this was still going to cost me $270 so I decided to stick with the original plan and add extra money towards the $250 and got with the $320 quote.
During the process Hairdresser A reminded me that we would not be able to get my hair to the blonde I wanted it but we should be able to the next time. During this time I also had Hairdresser B work on putting foils in my hair.
During the time of my whole visit I was discussing how I hate golden/brassy tones and would love my hair to be the ash blonde colour I discussed and even if we couldn't achieve this look I just wanted to look noticeably blonder WITHOUT the brassy tones. The foils on the bottom half of my hair were washed first and the ones on top were set for longer, not too sure on why this was. At the end of my appointment I was quite happy and went on with the rest of my day. Trying to take photos to send to my boyfriend I realised that I wasn't quite happy but was told otherwise by family members that it looked good.
Fast forward to the next morning and my hair is GOLDEN and BRASSY with a hint of ORANGE not the colour at all I asked for, the very thing infact I said I didn't want. Being embarrassed I showed my mum to which she decided to take me to our local hair supply place to see if we could purchase some toner or treatments to get rid of this colour. The qualified Hairdresser from said hair supplier told me that she would definitely be calling up demanding a toner for free after the $320 debarkle and also mentioned that she has no idea why they couldn't get my colour to as blonde as I wanted it as my hair wasn't very dark. I called Royals and lovely Hairdresser C answered the phone and told me my original Hairdresser A was off for the day and there was nothing much she could do so my mother pursued to discuss that I had spent too much money to not be happy and I was offered to come in that day.
Another 45 minute trip back to the salon I was greeted by Hairdresser B with an odd judgemental look and was pointed in the direction of Hairdresser C to discuss the situation. To my disbelief she tried to talk me out of the toner saying it wasn't a good idea and that it was my natural hairs problem for throwing off a gold tinge, I insisted I get the toner as I had spent the large amount of money. Whilst in the chair Hairdresser C said that she would not massage my hair as she was busy and kindly apologised (which is totally fine) getting back to the chair to have a quick blow dry off Hairdresser C dried the front of my hair and asked Hairdresser D to continue on- as Hairdresser D continued Hairdresser C stoped her in her tracks saying that I was to receive no more of the blow dry otherwise I would be charged.
$320 later I'm embarrassed and wish I had spoken my peace that day in the salon- at this point my hair is average not what I wanted and certainly was not worth the $320. Needless to say, I will not be returning. I don't wish to receive a refund nor any incentives but just to share my experience.
Not a good hair salon. My hairdresser burnt my hair and left my colour on for way too long. They don't refund so if your not happy with the service or if you buy faulty products they only exchange.Offer me what you want, I won't take my review down!
I went to Royals in person to show them my hair and a photo of what I wanted to get an accurate quote for balayage which they quoted as being around $450 depending on which hairdresser saw me on the day. It could have been a bit less or a bit more but the quote seemed reasonable to me so I booked an appointment. (The photo I showed was of a balayage look where different tones were used through the hair to give it light and dark streaks).
On the day of my appointment hairdresser A looked at the photo and said that because my hair had been dyed previously (a year ago) she couldn’t get it to be that blonde shade at the end. I said I don’t mind if my hair doesn’t get that light at the end but as long as this balayage look can be achieved. 3 hours and $411 later all I got was a very copperish ombre look. I went home, wasn’t happy with my hair so went back to Royals in person to make a formal complaint, something I absolutely hate doing.
Hairdresser B who saw me agreed that my hair did not look like photo at all and noted down what I was and wasn’t happy with and said I will receive a call from them soon after she’s spoken to management.
I receive a phone call from hairdresser B saying that we discussed my hair wouldn’t be light like the photo. I said I understood that and agreed I had no issue with my hair not getting that light but the balayage look in the photo had not been achieved at all. There was no light and dark streaks going through my hair, it was just a black to copperish ombre, 2 solid colours in my hair. She tells me that she told me it was a 2 step process which has now turned into a ‘he said, she said’ situation. I tell her that during consultation it would be a good idea to write down what has been discussed so there’s no room for argument. Hair dresser B tells me to come in and that she will put a few foils and toner through it. I tell her I don’t want a quick fix job, I will pay the extra money it will take to achieve what I went in for in the first place so now my quote is $290 and I’m booked in for Monday 12th December at 10am.
Sunday comes and I’ve received no phone call to reconfirm my booking as they stated they would do so I call in and say I’ve got an appointment booked for Monday, I’m pretty sure its 10am but can she please double check. Hairdresser C puts me on hold to find out then comes back and tells me with great confidence that my appointment is on Monday at 1.30pm.
I go in at 1.30pm and say I’m pretty sure appointment was at 10 but have come in now as that’s what person on phone told me. I am told that in fact my appointment was booked for 10am but accidentally put in as the following year so they squeezed me in so hair dresser A who I’ve booked appointment with cannot see me, I’ll be looked after hairdresser B. I show photo to hairdresser B who says my hair is lighter than the photo so she doesn’t know why hairdresser A would say it isn’t (my hair wasn’t lighter than photo so I actually didn’t know what this hairdresser was going on about). She gives me a couple of options of hat can be done. I explain to her that this is the look I want so I trust her as the hairdresser to choose the better option.
After my hair is done hairdresser B says that because she doesn’t know exact shades in the photo she could only choose similar. Maybe something you should let a client know beforehand. $290 later and I would say my hair maybe resembles photo 60 percent, maybe. I still wouldn't call it a balayage as there were no tones going through my hair. Call an Ombre what it is.
All up I paid $600 for something that left me feeling very disappointed.
* my sister in law paid about $300 to get her hair balayaged. She got her hair to a very blonde look even though her hair had also been previously dyed and all in the one visit – the differences between hair salons and hairdressers is amazing.
A welcoming, friendly environment ! I absolutely love getting my hair done here especially by Shaylee. Definitely recommend getting your hair done here 100% !!
