They just think of money and not finding the best possible home for their pets!
I’ve got a dog for my 7 year old daughter; although they admitted the dog is good with children but I had to return the dog as she was growling up to my daughter all the time and even bit her hands once!
They just returned 75% of my money and didn’t refund the silly “dog appliances package “ they made me to buy with the dog!!!
So I ended up losing around 400$ on a dog I had just for 3 days plus two times driving up for the eastern suburbs to their location because they just wanted to give that dog to someone as soon as possible to get money!
We picked up our pup about 5months ago and she’s settled in really well. The reason for the 2stars is that the micro chip form that pets haven sends away for you has been lost. We have rung to get this fixed up numerous times and have been told it’s been resent, however 5months later on and it still hasn’t been received by the people they send it to.
The upside?
The staff were helpful, polite and otherwise unremarkable -
we have a loyal, affectionate, beautiful animal who is our child's shadow - he is empathic and thaws the heart of the most staunch animal hater.
The downside?
Well, we were told that he was a staffordshire terrier, the runt of the litter and won't grow very big at all, perfect for a small backyard.
He's not. He's a highly prey driven animal who has reached a small horse size and gives a greyhound a run for it's money.
He appears to be a boxer, mastiff and hound mix, and had reached the size of a staffordshire terrier by the age of 5 months.
He's currently 1 year, 7 months old and still growing.
I have been lucky enough to adopt 2 beautiful dogs from this incredible organisation in the past 12 months and I am just so grateful to Pets Haven for saving their lives so they could join our family. Pets Haven are such a remarkable group of people saving literally thousands of lives a year. I am so happy we were lucky enough to adopt our babies through them and I recommend them to all of my friends and family who are looking for a new family member :) Could not love my dogs more! Thank you so much Pets Haven!
I volunteer here and foster for these guys so I might be a bit biased but it's an amazing place. We temperament test, vet check, vaccinate and desex all of our animals before placing them up for adoption, our staff and volunteers are all lovely people who are easy to talk to and adopting is a great way to save a life in need and add to the family without breaking the bank.
Great philosophy, save animals from euthanasia. Funds are used in animals not advertising like other animal shelters. Admirable adoption rates.. place animaks with the right owners..
Tasty puppies cooked just how you like 'em. Mmm mmm.
I got my cat from here. You can tell that they love the animals in their care. Great knowledge from the team and great advice!
All about the money! They do not care able the animals.
A very young girl asked me about 3 questions regarding my ability to look after a dog and then gave him to me. She then lied about how many injections he'd had and several other things. He ended up costing me way more than anticipated at the vets. I emailed pet haven a photo to let them know that he was happy and in a good home and they didn't even bother to email back.
Disappointing that they only seem to care about money. Please also note that this place has been closed down in the past, not sure why but I definitely won't be back. There are several other more reputable rescue centres.
Such a great organisation & love my lil Rosie. Got her from here at 12 weeks old and has been perfect fit to my household xo
My fiance and I visited Pets Haven all the way from the eastern suburbs on Sunday 11th of December 2016 to do a meet and greet with our current fur baby and Benji an 8 month old Staffy Lab Blend we were interested in adopting if the shoe fitted. Upon arriving the lady at the counter (I believe her name was Amanda) was hostile and rude advising us that Benji was not here before even letting us explain that we had organised it with forster careers. Once Benji and our dog met it was clear that their personalities did not mesh well, they had no interest in one another and our dog became uneasy and showed signs of aggression. We advised we would be interested in meeting an older dog, we were then pressured into taking Benji for a walk down to the park where or current dogs aggression become more clear. We went back to the center where we waited 45 minutes to speak with the lady running the show to be ignored and fobbed off. Essentially feeling as though because the shoe didn't sit with one dog that we were not worth the time or effort. The shittest customer service I have ever encounted when it comes to adding more fur babies to forever homes, we have had friends adopt from here with no issues at all so for us to have such a terrible experience is really saddening. I hope they train their staff in better customer service and handling stress when it is busy.
