A beautiful space with gorgeous grounds. Food was fantastic and the kitchen staff were very accommodating. Amazing art and setting. A must on any trip here!
A trip to Daylesford for the day led us to the convent gallery.
The beautiful flowers in bloom the smell in the air
Having two little toddlers with us the staff were so accomodating to help and make our time there for brunch enjoyable. Which is hard to do with kids 😩
We could of spent all day there the history and the gardens are Devine
Can't wait to come back
Well worth the$5 admission.
Self-guided tour of the convent with a lot of art to see. Great views from the old bell tower.
Convent Gallery is set on beautifully gardened grounds. It has a reasonably large and diverse range of art in many styles and mediums. Something for everyone. The architecture of the buildings and their history are also interesting. There's a gift shop with many unique products. I didn't eat in the cafe but they had some delicious looking cakes on display. The $5 entry fee is fair but depending on your likes, there are other (free) galleries in the area that are just as enjoyable, if not more so. The convent is well worth a visit though.
Convent is lovely. Gardens are beautifully maintained and photogenic. Art gallery is okay for a day trip activity, but won't be to everyone's taste. Souvenir store within is quite expensive.
Classic convent and a nice old cafe area. You can also explore the gallery. For an eat in a country town, it was decent.
Beautiful old building, run by very friendly people who appreciate fine art, do the garden beautifully and offer delicious cakes. A lovely place for a day out.
Good place to visit for a bit of local history, art and a coffee. Popular local function venue, especially for weddings with a magnificent old chapel.
Found a strand of hair in the beef patty and that put us off the entire meal. We were to order desert but simply could not eat another bite after that. We left our meals and just got up to pay so that we could get out of there. When we advised them of the problem we received an apology, these were the exact words - 'hope this experience didn't put you off your meal' and 'hope you come back soon'. Well of course it put us off our meal and we're definitely not coming back soon. The least they could have done was not have charged us for the food we could not eat!
Great gallery with nice art that is changing on a regular basis
very flash, fascinating building and beautiful gardens kept well. not especially cheap and a kinda arty shop if you like that sort of thing. walking around upstairs (small entrance fee) is nice but watch out for your kids - plenty of stuff that they could easily wreck.
Beautifully renovated and filled with surprisingly beautiful pieces. Tina Bonitska, the owner and visionary behind the gallery, has a great eye for detail. The buildings and surrounding garden are all gorgeous, as is the view of Dalesford from the 2nd story balcony. Worth the small entry price, although you can access the garden, cafe and bar without going through the gallerybut why miss out?
Well preserved buildings, excellent art, good gift shop, very interesting renovations. The altar bar is a must see as is the bell tower and the nun's dining room. Owner is very friendly and informative
Absolutely delightful staff. Particularly the lovely young lady who served me and was quite the singer. Sorry I can't remember your name but you'll know who you are. What a treasure you are. The convent and gallery is amazing. The altar barwow! Will certainly return when I'm next in Daylesford.
