totally not what we had hoped for!

Booked online based on advertised menu options.
    Arrived to be told
    - You haven't booked.
-There will be no split bills.
And the real gem - Once seated we were told the menu was reduced because they were busy.

We Expressed our disappointment which fell on the deaf ears of the blond waitress (aka queen of attitude)

When it arrived the beef burger was raw and our Plates were removed while we were still eating.

When we asked if we could take our pizza with us, we were handed a box to pack it ourselves.

At the register when asked if everything was ok we replied 'not great!'

It was at this point that we became sadly aware that they were NOT at all interested in our dining experience.
They just wanted our money and couldn't get us out quick enough!

    Won't recommend or return!

    Not impressed!

    1. Booked online - only to arrive and booking didn't exist,
    2. Were not advised of the reduced menu until seated.
    3. Beef burger was raw.
    4. Plates cleared by staff while still eating.
    5. Had to box our own leftovers.

    Wouldn't recommend!!!

Docklands hosted a Firelight Festival, there's an expectation that restaurants on the promenade would be busy.

Myself and 3 friends thought that Medici would be a good place to eat dinner. We were wrong.
Our first impressions were good, we got put into another line for outdoor eating, they showed us which table we had been assigned as well as the other party of 4 who were waiting.
Our terrible night began when another family took our table. A waitress was late to correct them on where they were assigned seating and cleared their correct table quickly.
Once seated we saw numerous workers buzzing about the place (about 5) but we weren't able to catch their eye to let them know were waiting for our orders or even drinks to be taken.
After 20 minutes the table next to us ( The party of 4 we waited in line with) got up and left, wishing us good luck - we made the mistake of staying. I finally got up and asked one of the workers about it, she was surprised that our waitress hadn't been by.
The Father from the people who were re-seated went inside to order (unknown to us at the time) We finally managed to get a waitress over to us and could order.
We ordered drinks 3 times over the night. On our first order the waitress was unsure whether the drink was available and that she would let us know. We had to wave down her again at which she told us they didn't stock the drink. We ordered a drink, twice, she assured us they stocked.

Our food finally came out late and only 3 of the 5 dishes of which were lukewarm. We were relieved that we could finally eat. But if you're not serving all the dishes at the same time, it was terrible that they even waited for our food to go cold. Why even bother with the pretenses then? We're hungry, we've been wondering around the cold docklands and if you're not giving all 5 of our dishes at the same time, it should come out hot, not cold and warm.
The piss poor time management and all the time spent waiting affected our ability to watch the fireworks from a good viewpoint.
It was extremely frustrating because if we've been served in a timely manner, in that if our orders were taken and processed correctly, we would of been able to get a good viewpoint for the fireworks.

Instead we had witnessed 4 workers gawking with their phones, our drinks hadn't arrived, we couldn't signal for our final bill. I got up again to ask for it after snapping a photo. The waitress came with our bill. We told her we weren't paying for the drinks that didn't arrive. She said that's fine, it's not on the bill anyway. She was unsympathetic to our dining experience stating that the other table who ordered only had the kids meal arrive, that the parents order hadn't come through either.

It was a miserable time and 1 star is too good.

Medici knew they were to be busy, they knew they needed competent staff and they had staff who don't know the menu, or how to work there.
I definitely not recommend eating there, not on any occasion.

Staff were very friendly throughout the duration of our meal. Great atmosphere and clean restaurant!

Had the garlic pizza to start, which was extremely tasty! For the main, I decided to go with the special risotto, which again, hit the spot nicely!

Only down side was the wait time between meals.

Otherwise, was a great feed and will definitely come back again!

We paid $21 for a "salmon salad". My poor mum ordered it, thinking it was a main and when we opened it, it was basically a few bits of salmon with some spinach and less than a teaspoon of quinoa. When we decided to go and complain about the ridiculous prices, we were met with a rude server that acted as if she was better than us. Eventually we got a refund, but she threw the food in the bin. So wasteful. Take your money elsewhere.

Terrible. Arrived In plenty of time before the game at Etihad stadium eg. 5.45. They were quick with the drinks but took nearly an hour to bring food and then got one of the pizzas wrong and it took three complaints to get the correct pizza back to our table. Just got to the game in time. We have never had this sort of problem before even when the place has been full so the new owners need to have a good look at their staff. Will not be going back until I heAr it has improved. 😡

Not a great place on an event night at Etihad Stadium. Very understaffed. 1 hour+ for food. Look elsewhere.
