If there is a zero star rating I would choose it! This was a first and last terrible experience for us! We never own or have any knowledge about caravan and purely seeking for some advices and wanted to support the local business. We are just an average Joe couple like any of you, why I am bothered to sit here to write a review on this incident that happened to us in April 2020. It was a terrible year, I believe any of you would never forget 2020! We bought our Jayco Heritage 2005 secondhand from a mate, we have no idea and have no knowledge about caravan and so as our mate. We decided to take to May West in Hopper crossing, Peter is the owner. We need to give the caravan a full service and do a few modifications to it. The quote came back around $4k, so ok.. not something we were expected, so we find out what was each single job cost us. Like I said, we have no idea, so we asked Peter, he quoted his workmanship is around $130 per hour from what I can remember. We tried to negotiate with Peter that it is our first caravan and we are not wealthy but at the end, still no discount, doesn't matter what we said. We wanted to modify our two single beds to become a one piece bedding like a queen or a king bed so our whole family with 2 kids can sleep altogether, the engineer who works for Peter was very nice and professional, he explained what he will do but because we are not so handy ourselves and we were desperate to modify the bed and service our caravan. Covid and restrictions started, we didn't mind to leave the caravan with them for months since we won't allow to travel anywhere anyway. I think about 2 to 3 months later when we got the van back, it was a disaster, the bedding's modification was just 2 pieces of timber plank drilled onto the frame of the original single beds, 1 piece of timber, 12mm timber slat to sit in the middle between the 2 single beds to join up the whole bedding. So, ok..Peter charged us around 2 hours of labor for that job specifically and $400 for material which were a few screws, 1 timber slat and 2 planks to hold the slat, none of cutting been filed down. All other things were just terrible! I rang and spoke to Peter, no apology for whatsoever but told me that my husband accepted the quote and said that no one has forced us into the contract. Peter is a heartless individual and has no sense how to deal with customer, has no feeling and no compassion, never admit that anything is his fault. I took all pictures of all things that went wrong to show Peter, no apology, no appreciation that we didn't rush them to fix our caravan, no responsibility for duty of care as business owner. I strongly not recommend you take your caravan here!! If you think I am a jerk, has so much free time on my plate and spent so much time to write this review then be my guest! Take your van here, then experience your own disaster.

Very helpfull and friendly. Quick to install brake controller and well priced. Would recommend them if you need a van, stuff fixed and checked and if they cant help they know people that can. Give them a call.

Disappointing attitude that turned me off utilising this business. Not prepared to even give out a verbal ball-park figure for installing a rooftop air-conditioner. Be aware before you contact them that they charge $130 for quoting on a job (refundable if you accept their price). So either you are out of pocket or have to accept whatever price they decide. Given the going rate for caravan works is $110-120/hour the quotes must be pretty detailed if you're paying $130 for the pleasure. Went with another business that was prepared to give an estimate over the phone.

The TEMPERATURE went above 40', & then our air-con quit on us!
I contacted MAE WEST Caravans; They went to a lot of trouble , BUT, THEY DID manage to get one for me and have it delivered to their premises before the close of businesses for the Christmas period.
THAT took some doing & I am very grateful.
Apart from that they have a very good range of spare parts & if they don't have it in stock "They get it"!
They also have a great selection of Caravans for sale, at extremely competitive prices!
Do yourself a favour, Stop off & "have a look".
