The best room and service ever. we have been going to Port Douglas every year for about 4 years now and we always stay in a lagoon room being a room where the pool is right on you door step. The room is extremely spacious and the hotel is extremely close to town. Mantra Portsea is the best hotel for these reasons. Also the pool area is amazing and I always meet heaps of new people.

Great place to stay. Close to 4 mile beach and only about 1km walk along beach to city centre, shopping and restaurants. Staff could be more attentive.

This is the worst 4 star hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was a small box with no where to open luggage the bathroom was tiny. This aside it was very old and tired with excessive mould every where. The continental breakfast was pathetically sad. We have booked another hotel to enjoy the rest of our holiday. On a positive the hotel had a beautiful pool area and plants.

There is no free wifi. The room was a little dirty. Seems older and needs to be updated. The continental breakfast is sub par, very basic and never changes. Great staff service and pool was nice and refreshing. Overall, quite expensive for what you get.

Nice pool, good ambiance and a nice Mediterranean feel. Reasonably close to town workout being too busy. Enjoyed our stay here and FNQ in general

We enjoyed our brief stay here years ago even though we were likely in a severely terrible mood as we were held prisoner by our tour sponsors and never spent 2 nights in a row at the same resort between Sydney and Cairns in 10 days. We liked what we saw, although we probably did not stay long enough to decide if it is what we prefer in a resort, I am afraid some of the poor reviews about facilities and amenities may be accurate since the more I recollect, the memories of frustration with limited access to food, beverage and amenities come back to mind. I would really like to stay here again just because we thought it was a cool place.

Pros: Location is about 15mins to main strip. Free parking and awesome pool. Rooms are nice. Cons: awesome pool too cold to swim in needs to be heated. Staff don't tell you about shuttle services or great tours to try unless you ask them. Breakfast is the bare basics would not recommend. No lifts to get to second floor.

Initially when we arrived the room that we were given was almost like a dungeon, small and musty smell! We went back up to reception and expressed our disappointment the guy at front desk didn't seem to really care about what we had to say! He gave us an alternative to change the room but at a cost not impressed!!! Also when we did book there was no mention that there would be maintenance going on on around us such as scaffolding and tradesmen everywhere, I understand that maintenance must be done but seriously!! Don't think that we'll be staying there again! Lack luster atmosphere around the place no music playing at the bar until we mentioned for some music to be played, bar only open 2.30 to 4.30 if it wasn't for us having our own Bluetooth speaker it was as dead as a door nail!!

We were welcomed by friendly staff who were helpful enough to offer their guidance on local transfers before we left.
The room, a self-contained 2 bedroom apartment, was clean and well appointed.
The kids enjoyed the wide selection of swimming pools.
The tour reservation desk is well set up, and readily accessible.
Can't really fault the Port Sea - it's close to town, and offers everything you'd expect from a resort.

Excellent resort. The rooms are all very clean and well appointed. They are also self contained. The resort has three pools including a large lagoon style pool. The resort is located within walking distance to the main shopping and dining precinct.
