This has been our 4th stay at Mai Tai Resort.
Since we have had our beautiful Wedding here in 2013 we come and stay every year.

Mai Tai is a very unique and lovely decorated Resort with lots of attention to Detail. The Rooms are very specious and absolutely clean. We always try and book in advance to secure one of the rooms with the beautiful outdoor shower overlooking the rainforest.

In our recent visit we have noticed a few amazing upgrades to the Resort such as the the timber pool verandah overlooking the beautiful mountain side and a sneaky peek onto the Reef on the right and the Daintree to the left. The Breakfast Area has also been extended with an additional sitting Area were you can enjoy the same amazing view as from the Pool.

The two Hosts are both beautiful friendly people that make our stay at the Resort so very special each time we get to come.

BEST TIP:
Andre and Anthony are a great source of information regarding Tours and what to do in Port Douglas, the Daintree, Mossman or Cairns. They are very helpful and even take over the bookings for you. If required they will provide you with extra towels to get to the Reef and book your Pick up. And if you have no idea where to go for Dinner or Lunch ask and you will get an honest and reliable review of the best places around.

This has got to be the best place to stay in the Port Douglas area. Just a very short drive from the maddening crowd – yet close to all the region’s attractions – takes you to such a quiet, restful and stunning Balinese inspired resort with fantastic views. Andre and Anthony’s attention to detail, warm hospitality, great tips etc is the best we’ve ever encountered in all our travels. For any special child-free escape you may have in mind, the serenity and privacy here – along with the perfect hosts – makes Mai Tai easily the best choice.

Our 5 night stay was just perfect.

Anthony and Andre with their beautiful family (Leon, Cleo, Eros, Rebel, Crystal and Prince) made us feel so warm and homely. Each morning their special care and good chats at breakfast time made us feel so special.

They have extensive knowledge about Port Douglas and Cairns. Anthony and Andre gave us a lot of info about the local attractions and helped us make the most out of our holiday.

They have decorated Resort with luxurious furnishings and beautiful lanterns along the hallway. The garden was full of tropical plants. The room that we stayed in had a spectacular view of the rainforest mountains and the green sugarcanes fields. The tropical shower was one of the best experiences. Everything made us feel we were really in a very special place.

Far from Port Douglas, away from the main tourist centre, but so close that we can easily go out for good food and some drinks.

Wish we could have stayed longer and hope to visit again.

We stayed here while visiting the Port Douglas, the Great Barrier Reef, and the Daintree rainforest.

It's a beautiful place. The view from the porch overlooks the farms in the valley and highlights the rainforest covered mountains with the ocean visible in the distance. While we were there, a flock of cockatiels roosted just around the curve of the mountain and flew by every morning and evening.

André and Anthony made our entire trip a success. They found ways to make our limited plans work and always had suggestions about the local attractions.

The main building is up a steep and narrow path after a sharp left behind their sign, but it is sealed and even our dinky rental car didn't have too much trouble.
