Two gardens, hammock, pool and super nice people made me staying here for a long time. laid back and always someone around to have a beer in the pool :)

Perfect location, Great staff, HUGE social garden with clean pool. Really cool chilled vibe here. Perfect if you're after a social hostel. Rooms also really spacious with own en suit bathrooms.

For $15 per night its perfect. A comfortable bed, hot showers and clean rooms. The garden area is a very social and cool place to hang out. All guests and staff very friendly and welcoming. Great location too !

This is the best hostel I have ever been too, I had room service, a double bed. Very clean, very strict and don't allow drugs to be smoked on the premises so don't have to worry about drugs. Do not sell hammer and tongs in vending machine. Very luxurious and had a absolutely fantastic time staying there with an amazing pool.

Lazy duck~ It is really a good backpacker with nice staff, cleaning environment and friendly friends from all over the world. WIFI is perfect. Swimming pool is perfect. And every Thursday's BBQ night is perfectAnd the location is very convenient to go shopping in coles or woolworths. I really like here. I think lazy duck is your best choice to choose. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

The only rule in Lazy duck is: There is no rules! It is more like a backpackers anarchy in here. The place is literally falling apart. It is very noisy every night and despite the efforts of the cleaners (work for free accommodation), the place is constantly dirty, specially the kitchen and of course, the cockroaches take advantage. No one seems to give a s**t!
Reception is open a couple of random hours a day and the rest of the time you need to phone them and wait until they have time to come. Washing machine swallowed my money. Pool grass infested with ants.
Location is great and price is very low but I would strongly discourage people from staying here unless you don't really care much about dirtiness, noise, insects and falling apart facilities.

    BEST HOSTEL IN CAIRNS!!!

instantly welcomed, great social feeling about the hostel. swimming pool, comfortable beds, a 24hr beer vending machine? What more do you want @ $15 a night? And the Thursday night BBQ is great value @ 2$ for food and goon and free drinks at the Woolshed.

We went to the weekly BBQ, great food, music, people and atmosphere! We stayed in a room upstairs. 5 bunk beds in rooms, 1 bathroom. Altogether very nice and a wonderful experience!

If you want a quiet place to relax don't bother coming here although its usually quiet by 11pm.

If you want a fun time this is the place to be! Every night is a new party and the staff all make sure you're having a good time! I booked for 3 days and stayed 3 weeks. Great people and good times!

The only positive thing of this hostel for me was the bed as I was travelling on the East Coast in a van. I have been travelling for 7 years and this is the worst hostel ever!!! It's everything just disgusting, kitchen, toilets, showers doesn't work properly, there is no staff around to help u, etc etc. Guys I moved to the hostel on the left side and I staid there 5 nights. In this one I spent half day!!! Cheers. Don't book here!!!!!!!!!

I stayed here for quite a while and this is without a doubt the WORST hostel i have ever stayed in. I have been to hostels all over the world, but never to this level of bad service.

The bed sheets are extremely dirty-so are the rooms. Their idea of a daily clean is to take a damp cloth and drag it around with their feet on the floor.
There is no superior-which means all the staff and guests are treated the same and there is no service/proffesionalism what so ever.
The staff rarely greets you and are all stoners.
EVERY SINGLE NIGHT i stayed in this place the staff alone would play loud dance music and scream and shout.
The pool is dirty-so is the kitchen.
There is about 3 knives and forks.Guests and staff dont clean dishes so there was a horrid smell coming from there.
The stove was broken-so was the microwave and kettel. The bathrooms have a thick layer of dust and dirt and never gets cleaned. The so called staff uses the same cloth to "clean" with that was in the sink for the dishes.

I left my toiletries in the bathroom and all of it was thrown out and never returned and simply because nobody took responsibility for it.The person who himself chucked it hid in his room and avoided me.
So worth 100s of dollars was never returned to me because the staff thought it was trash-even though it was expensive items that anyone can see is clearly not trash.
The management is too casual and unbothered-the staff is stoned, drunken and arrogant.
The staff does not recognise that you are a paying costumer and talks to you however they please.
On top of all this-food and other personal items were frequently stolen from everyone.Whether it was from our rooms or the kitchen.

I would never stay here again and never recommend it to anyone.

Location is good, but facilities are run down. Dont dream of booking there. We paid $700 and had to move out fews hours later without getting any refund. Shower and toilet does not have doors. Only good for young people. Staff not helpful.

Nice place but not honest people at all.. they took my card number without asking anything when i check in and they took money from my account because an other french guy have been noisy.. they didn't have his card number so as im french as well and i knew him a bit they took 50$ from my account.. even if they clearly said that i didn't do anything wrong.. Went to see the police, nothing legal in there.. kitchen disgusting, reception never open and when you call them cause you need something you have to wait at list 30min even if its raining..
