The setting is amazing next to a lovely beach. Wifi can be patchy but there's 4G mobile reception with Optus now. The beachfront rooms are the nicest, but it's better to spend more time around the pool or on the beach.

Pluses: Fantastic location, very friendly and courteous staff, tasty evening meal. Allowed me to rest in a room for a couple of hours at no charge when I was a day visitor and feeling tired/unwell.
Minuses: Room not spotlessly clean (gecko droppings, dead bugs, big live spider, soap residue on shower), well decorated (no pictures), or well appointed (just the basics – no guest compendium – plus a TV that shows porn and movies). Everything a bit run down, although the tropical climate and distance from Cairns plays a part (rusty air conditioner units and lower fridge door, torn fly-screen, curtains coming off hooks, paint coming off outdoor furniture, etc.). Breakfast food lacking in variety and presentation (fresh fruit and yoghurt, boxes of cereal, fresh juice, tea/coffee, hard boiled eggs and toast). Somewhat over-priced for what you get.
