Below average dining experience . The food used to be a lot better and the prices have increased. The vegetarian Gado Gado was warm tofu pieces, sliced cabbage and satay sauce . So much more to say about the food but I'll leave it at that. When I went up to pay the bill the male owner was very smug, condecending and rude. I wont be bringing my family back again .

This food taste just ok.. Actually, this restaurant is bit racist. they have two separate room; front and back. if you sit in the back, they will treat you nice and not rush you. But if you sit in the front, they will rush you and serve you in rude way..

Delicious food, brought me back to the Gadagada I had back in Bali. Yummy crispy tofu, refreshing salad and tangy peanut sauce, I just wish there was more tofu and peanut sauce to match the amount of cabbage in the dish.

Great service and food.
We have been many times but just recently we took our 1yr old son for the first time. No booking, they fit us in and had an affordable, delicious dinner with him sitting on a high chair.

Horrible service! Very bad experience. I have been sitting here for 10mins, but no one serves me water, then I ask for a cup of water. No matter how loud I shot. They just walk pass and pretend they didn't hear me. Even the next table customer can hear me clearly. Finally I had my water, but she (the boss) put everything on the table include my food with her impatient face. What's wrong with these people!

Very nice selection of food, food was plentiful & tasty with spices. Service was acceptable, surroundings relaxing, split in deux chambres. Table size good for 2 diners and join able. Entrance has a step and not suitable for larger wheelchairs. The manager said they were planning a refurbishment in July 2017 including improvement for wheelchair access. Now once you get inside there room for manoeuvring a wheelchair.

Lunch time is very busy & noisy & tables close to each other, other diners were respectful and kept the volume down.

“Good, Consistent and Clean South East Asian eatery”

Quite a few times we've been there .. I think still the same owner, maybe different generations.

Typical South East Asian offerings; Cambodian, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Indonesian fares, dare I say Singaporean, what's good' consistency is there, been there since the 80's. No stand out dishes, I would say Sugarcane Prawn Rolls and Vietnamese Spring Rolls. For what they are charging there are better offering around.

Service can be a bit up & down, sometimes it feels a bit arrogant.

One of the neatest & cleanest restaurant in Box Hill, still to date?.

I used to come to this restaurant every weekend with my young son. The food is nice, and he has a great time.

The last two times I have been here:

1. The owner forced my son and I to leave quickly despite the fact that we had just finished our meal so that "someone else can use the high chair"; and

2. Today, I accidentally left my son's drink cup on the table. I telephoned Indochine within 90 minutes to ask about the cup, only to be told that the cup had been thrown in the bin. That's right, this restaurant throws its customers' property in the garbage. They barely offered an apology.

So, in a nutshell: the food is pretty good, but the management treat their customers rudely and with contempt.

Avoid.

I tried their Pad Thai and Asian greens and my partner had another yummy dish - they were both out of this world. They have a great menu too. These guys are doing it right - totally worth checking out.
