I went with my minor son and his friend for dinner.
Before going I googled information about liquor licenses in nsw because they are 17 and wanted to make sure if they could haves beer with me for dinner. Initial searches said it was ok.
When we were there with the drinks the doorman blew up at me saying ‘ what are you doing’, I responded that I was having dinner and a drink with my boys. We were then scolded and kicked out without an explanation of the laws. I would have been fine if we had a conversation with the doorman about licensing and he could have corrected me on what was my mistake.
Sorry the rating is for the doorman’s ability to communicate with the punters. Other than that I have no idea what the hotel is like.

Good times and great classic hits! Classic country pub in the city! Wrap your mits around an icy-cold Newtowner whilst watching the world go by in downtown Paddington, or elbow your way to the front bar before a sold out Allianz Wallabies test. This pub does it all!

One of the better recent pub Reno's. Very good food and solid beverage menu. Often lively when there is sport on.

Classic old Paddington institution, restored a few years ago. Great range of beers and wines across multiple bars. Food menu is good although a bit weird at times (like the attached tapioca croquettes)

Stopped by for Sunday lunch. I had the lamb shoulder roast special while my wife enjoyed the chicken and leek pie. The food was delicious in a relaxing atmosphere with the open fire warming a cool winters day. Highly recommended.

Went to the Imperial on the weekend and I was absolutely disgusted with the service and attitude of the manager & some staff members. We had a large group of friends visiting Sydney & we ended up sitting upstairs in a private section which had it's own tv screen. (keeping in mind the pub was very quiet & other patrons upstairs were not at all interested in watching any sports). We asked very politely if we were able to watch a certain sports match which they refused to play all because the 'manger' did not like this particular sports. The manager & staff also spoke to us very rudely on several occasions. Will not be recommending the Imperial to anyone.

Good standard beer selection, expansive and lots of seating, good for big groups I reckon.

Okay outdoor area at the back where people can enjoy a ciggie.

Newly renovated Imperial is the best pub that side of Oxford. Relax in a leather sofa or sit by the window and watch the passerbys. Food is quality and the drinks are always cold and plentiful.

Talk to the bartender about the historic immortal and learn something new over that deliciously cold brew.

Nice place and the drinks were reasonably priced. Plus they have Stone and Wood Pacific Ale on tap which is probably he greatest beer of all time.
