Wow. We've been talking about trying out the Hougoumont Hotel for months, and we finally had a chance to do so. In a word: unique. We had a wonderful time, though our stay was short. The room service is quick and delicious, the staff is very helpful, and parking is included. The rooms are reminiscent of staying on board a luxury cruise—while small, they are perfect for one or two people. The overall tone is modern and eclectic, as well as cozy. I can't recommend it highly enough. We can't wait to go back.

Great location, awesome place! Complementary water, coffee/tea, (quick) wifi and breakfast. Free wine and cheese in early eve is also a great add-on.

The hotel is "boutique" - small but very well located, walking distance from just about everything in"Freo".

Super nice staff - Emily and Mark impressed us. You are in close contact with them in the"lounge", and they could not be nicer or more helpful. Nice simple breakfasts with good coffee and bread. Sets you up for the day. Apples, bananas, tangerines and suchlike all day long. Good wine and excellent cheeses/pizza from 5-6.

But.rooms are VERY small so try to get a biggish one. It is run on "ship-lines" - viz the rooms are cabins.

Disappointing. I heard great reviews but it did not live up to them. There was a stain on my bed and the room had a nasty smell to it. Whilst being there my phone went missing and the receptionist was rude and unhelpful.
It is not worth the money they charge and was not relaxing or pleasant

Awesome experience for New Year's Eve. Walked in to the staff offering champagne and tapas to all guests arriving to celebrate NYE in freo.
Standard rooms are really small.. like tiny, so go the bigger option if available. Clean tidy and friendly staff, that's what u want in a boutique hotel.

Where do i start! From the moment you walk in the door, greetings with wine and cheese platters. The staff are very friendly and contemporary attitude to service. Lizzy is fantastic. Not just another stuffy hotel. This place is chic, modern. The choice of products in the bathroom are fantastic. when i come to WA, i won't stay anywhere else. I wish i could give more than 5 stars.

Smart, modern boutique hotel which rooms are structured from shipping containers. Hotel location is well within Fremantle business district and walkable distance to touristy places. Working desk with Mac computers in the reception room. Staff are warm, friendly and helpful. Only downside is that rooms are small and bit cramped. But they provide free continental breakfast buffet and they have wine and cheese evening which makes the hotel outstanding.

Unequivocally my greatest hotel experience in Australia. Fantastic service, very friendly staff, and an amazing boutique building in and out. On top of receiving a nice welcome letter and completing an easy booking process, the staff also hunted down a bottle of our favourite prosseco, and layed rose petals in the room.

.. located stumbling distance from all the great wine bars and restaurants, you can't go wrong.

Shame I still can't pronounce it properly.

Only stayed overnight but was perfect. The room was very small but well set out so seemed much larger. Despite noise outside, room was very quiet and staff were lovely. Definitely recommended.

Intimate boutique hotel in the heart of Fremantle. Spotless. Friendly service - can't beat free wine and cheese at 5pm on a weeknight. Rooms are small so be prepared - but overall good value for money. Would stay again.
