If you're going for Dinner do not waste your money for they are charging, let us serve you small portions and hide it with salads a chips, the worst parma I have had not sure what that was, the kids meals one piece of serving on their plate, not worth any of that. All bland tasting, keep to the beer. Holgate sort it out..

Loved the ESB and Temptress on hand pump. A perfect prelude to the Oils concert at Hanging Rock.

The beer and atmosphere here are great. We've returned half a dozen times for pints, but every time have been disappointed by the food and service. Don't bother eating here. Come for beer.

Ventured here as a lunch stopover today. We walked in with a toddler & a baby.. conscious about glances coming our way.
the staff is the absolute soul here oh and the beer of course! Polite, helpful, warm & friendly!
The food was excellent. The beer platter was super. The toddler was tough (lol) but the environment was great and that helped heaps!

Excellent beer! Limited selection in food but, definitely a quality over quantity situation. Standard pub fare, but really delicious. This pub never leaves me wanting in any way.

Food was great if not a touch expensive. Great beer selection and some nice wines by the glass as well. Highly recommend the Mutton stew.

We went for a beer at the bar. There are lovely stained glass windows. They let us have a taste of a few beers so we could pick. The Chocolate Porter was great. I wouldn't go out of my way for this place, but it's a standard/good pub.

Bar was understaffed, though polite when served. Beers served on paddle taster did not match order due to printing differences in order form for customers and for staff. Food scraps on tables due to understaffing.

Great selection of house brewed beers. Amazing pub grub at a reasonable price. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great beer garden. 5/7 great experience!

The building is charming and staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was also nice. It seemed popular with locals and families.

Cute brick brewery, a must stop if you're passing through Woodend for a beer paddle and maybe dinner (pretty expensive for a standard pub menu but I guess there aren't too many other options in town). Service was a bit of a miss. Stated our preference for food before beer to line stomachs (hadn't eaten yet) but had a beer paddle poured for us after we said we wanted to wait until the kitchen was open at 5pm. I mentioned we'd wanted to go check out a shop or two and come back and she said she'd already poured it for us but that she could keep it for us - warm flat beer? No thank you. So we drank the paddle and I must say I'm pretty impressed with the value of their paddle: 8 different beers for $20! It was 4.5 standard drinks so we just split the one so my partner could drive. The cranky waitress walked away and I asked her colleague if I could pay so we could go sit at a table and then when we left she yelled out to ask if we'd settled our tab. Do they not have systems in place to check this? So not the friendliest service but at least the beers were nice. Quite liked the Hop Tart, the Temptress and the Gose.
