With respect to Mieke Lashford's review. We have been RWC testing vehicles for more than 26 years. The Victorian RWC legislation is as much about consumer protection as safety and we are bound by those regulations when we test. I understand other mechanics may at times have varying opinions of issues but we are responsible for our test and liable for any issues. Your husband was shown the car and issue with car on the hoist and agreed movement was excessive. New parts were quoted because we have a 12mth/10k klm warranty. I final tested the vehicle for you and as per Vic Roads procedure have photos to show repairs made. Making unqualified and misleading statements is mischievous and poor form. Anyone presenting their vehicle to Highton Automotive can expect professional service from a team of expert technicians that abide by all current legislation and codes backed by warranty as stated in Australian Consumer Law.

Please stay away, although it may seem cheap in the long run you will pay more.
We went in to get a rwc which leaded us having to get a part fixed which was going to be $470 to get done there.

Number 1, We had it checked buy our mechanic a week before.

2 We had our car taken to anther mechanic two days before for a full check over for the person buying it and it was fine.

3 We ended up taking the car to another mechanic which did our job for $150 and took him 30min.

4 He said they don't need changing and they are fine.

5 when we went back to get our rwc signed once our part was replaced they didn't even check at all.

I guess they do this thinking the person getting the rwc will not check for himself and they assume you'll just get it done through them so they make the money on the parts that don't really need changing.

Bad service from the front counter but from my experience the guys at the back seemed nice helpful but I guess they get told what todo and to find the odd job that needs fixing even if it doesn't.

I will never be back and I'm sure others will work this place out on there own.

Since this has happened I've heard of few bad story's from this place but for me it was to late.

A couple of weeks ago I broke down on the highway on my way back to Albury and got towed to Highton Automotive for a diagnosis. They charged me little for their review of the car, explained what was wrong, and then let me use their waiting room for an office for four hours for me to organise a tow back to Albury, let me have my car there for four days in their car park, let me use their toilet three gazillion times, and also drove me to the train station for me to catch a train home. Big thumbs up for this great garage and its friendly team who go above and beyond to provide help and support to those stranded. The car is back up and running now, thankfully.

I recently had my new car serviced by recommendation at Highton Automotive. I was really happy with the service I received, from the warm greeting and lift home from the lovely receptionist, to the phone call keeping me updated on the progress of the work.
Car was ready when they said it would be and had even been washed and vacuumed, which was a nice touch.
Price was reasonable compared to getting serviced at the dealer, more personal too. Very professional and happy to support local businesses.

Couldn't disagree more with the previous reviewer. Had my 98 Hyundai Excel serviced there, and they did a great job. Telephoned me before they did anything and quoted me. Reasonable prices. Car was cleaned inside and out (even polished!) when I picked it up, and is driving great. Will be a repeat customer.
