This is a great place to appreciate Australian wildlife. I have been there 3 times and it is spectacular.

I was disappointed today to see a wonderful bird show with a very poor quality sound system. It was frustrating for the audience but I couldn’t imagine how frustrating it must be for the staff. Entry isn’t overly cheap and for one of the main attractions to be not up and running properly isn’t good enough. I hope it gets fixed quickly so others can enjoy the show more.

Healesville Sanctuary is a brilliant place to visit whether you're a tourist or local. The epitome of humane animal enclosures and fantastic educational presentations. Get up close to many of the parks residents, including Birds of Prey flights over your head, wombats, and much more. Always a bit with kids no matter how many times they've already been, Healesville Sanctuary is one of Melbourne's trio also including Melbourne Zoo and Werribee Open Range Zoo. A family pass - whether a one off or annual - is incredible value, and grants reciprocal entry to many Zoos and parks in other states. Highly recommended.

The best zoo in Melbourne, always a new experience. The bird show is amazing, and sometimes you get to pat a dingo. Feeding the parrots is my little ones favorite activity. The new kangaroo enclosure is almost ready now as well, and it looks amazing.
It's the little things too that are so good, because its not as crazy busy as Melbourne zoo, you can stop and watch the caterpillars walk across the path

A great place to see native Australian wildlife. The Birds of Prey session should definitely be on your animals to see list. They bring out a huge eagle and an owl and it's very informative.
Lots of shady places to sit in the summer months. A good coffee shop with nice meals too.
A fab place to take your international family and friends!

This is the greatest place on earth to see a wide collection of Australian natives. A must for any tourist this superb establishment is great for the whole family from the wonderful bird shows to the wombats and reptiles there is much to discover here on every visit.

It is also located not too far from Rochford Winery so if you get to the sanctuary early enough you can do a late lunch at the vineyard, my perfect day out when overseas visitors arrive.

Has diverse species of Australian animals, the place is organised and clean. Shows are great but they need to make different shows and change. Which means if u attend now or after 2 years their shows would still be the same

Went with my boyfriend for his birthday. I took him to the wombat meet and greet and it was beautiful. The keepers were very kind and knowledgeable and Maggie was on her best behaviour which was gorgeous.

Excellent place for children and adults alike. Animals are kept in more natural habitats which I really like. Good variety of Australian and international animals. Try to catch the shows to make the most out of your visit. Basic cafe onsite.

The staff an the volunteers were informative and generous with their time. The exhibits were great. Particular highlights were the zoos surgery were we got to see an operation, the platypus show must be the only 1 of it's type in the world and the bird show. Well worth the trip.

I really love it here. I'm an Aussie but I never get tired of seeing our wonderful native animals. You get the sense that they really care about their animals here. Their enclosures are as close to nature as they can get which is always nice to see at a sanctuary or zoo. The animals all seem to be happy and healthy too which is the most important thing. Highly recommend a visit here whether you're an Aussie or a tourist.

This is truly a sanctuary for these animals. The staff are helpful, friendly and informative. The enclosures are beautiful and large enough to suit each indivudual animal. The dingos are even taken for walks to ensure that they get enough exercise in. They offer close encounters with their animals to give you the chance of taking amazing photos and getting an awesome experience with these native Australian animals. Highly recommend it!

Lots of beautiful paths through the bushland here.

They've added an area for kids to play in the creek, which is beautiful and fun.

Plenty of shade and cool for a hot day.

The bird show is well worth lining up for, a highlight every time I go.

Staff are extremely friendly and always stop to answer questions as they walk through.

A great place to take overseas visitors to see Australian wildlife pretty close up in a naturalistic setting.

Please note that you may not see the animal you want to see active depending when you are there in the day. Peak activity times for most Australian wildlife are early and late in the day, which is happily also when it's least busy.

Don't miss out on the nocturnal animal house, and try your luck with the platypuses. They aren't always in the mood to show off, but when they are playful or feeding they're completely adorable.

A lovely place to spend the day. Staff are very informative and friendly. The volunteers are amazing and very helpful in finding things quickly. Unlike many other places the animals are in great condition. They have large enclosures and are well looked after. The property offers picnic areas where you can bring your own lunch and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Overall its well worth the trip.
