I also enjoyed visiting Moonlit Sanctuary with their variety of Australian animals, but as far as getting to this Animal Sanctuary by public transport for those who do't drive concerned is a inconvenient nuisance; cause the bus travelling there doesn't seem to go all the way to entrance of Moonlit Sanctuary only seem to drop passengers off halfway which the rest of way is 40 minutes walk for person visiting seem to have two options (1) walk that distance or (2) pay extra cash to taxi cab or organized bus tour to get there. Unfortunately Not everyone who uses public transport can always afford that extra expense/luxury.

Had an amazing time here with my family. You get to mingle with the animals. The wallabies are especially cute. Great for young families. Good exposure to wildlife for children and fun way to spend ones time.

This is one of my favourite places. All the animals enclosures are very well maintained. The conservation work they do is amazing. We are proud members.

This is a really thoroughly enjoyable sanctuary/mini zoo. They take their work seriously and do it well! From a tourists perspective, it's really fun, just short enough and feeding wallabies is really great.

Spent a morning here and loved it. Lots of ducks, geese, and birds but our favourite was feeding the wallabies and kangaroos around the park. Also got up and close with a koala for some photos. Park is relatively small so you can make your way round in about 1-1.5 hours. Some people here complain that too many of the animals are in enclosures but let's be honest - most humans do not know the proper ways of interacting with wild animals (saw a child try to kick a bird to shoo it away from a kangaroo). It is probably much safer for both animals and guests that some of the animals, like their large emu and very sensitive koalas, are kept in controlled environments away from dumb people!

Visited this place on a weekend, it was quite busy even though it was a cold day. 5 stars to the maintenance and the friendly staff. Feeding the wallaby's and the birds was fun. Should stay here for an hour at-least to see everything on offer. They do server coffee and food in the restaurant , so its a decent place to break for lunch as well.
Cons - The cost for the attractions are a bit more than average in other similar places . Some of the animals are caged in really small enclosures giving it a zoo experience than a Sanctuary.response / report this review -

One of the best animal parks I've ever visited in my life ! Moonlit Sanctuary is the best place for international tourists to discover Australian wildlife. As a Canadian tourist, I've had the most awesome time encountering these animals for the first time. I was also a ''Keeper for a day'', so I got to go behind the scenes and hang out with one of the coolest keepers there; If you ever decide to do their ''keeper for a day'' program, definitely ask for Ryan ! He is an awesome guy ! A must-do in Melbourne for sure !

Love it.. !! Wallabies, Kangroos, ducks, lots of other birds in open Even though the number of species are less, the experience of interacting with them in open is amazing..
My 2 and half loves to feed the Wallabies, Kangaroos and the ducks here.

We had my daughter's 10th birthday party here and it was amazing! They did everything except the cake, and the kids had a ball! They loved having their own guided tour of the park, and getting to meet and feed the animals! And the party host, Amy, was fantastic with the kids!

Great place for an outing especially with kids. My guests had fun feeding the wallabies and kangaroos that freely roamed about. The talks were quite insightful and provides context to the various conservation efforts.
Don't miss the cockatoo that says 'Hello'. The cheeky one would only do it when he wasn't getting any attention.response / report this review -

What a great park! Got to see all the animals really close up and my 4 year old got to cuddle the python. Staff were friendly and the park is very well kept. Pushed the pram around, the terrain was great except a few spots. Kangaroos and wallabies were friendly and the birds weren't scared of us.
The chocolate brownie at the cafe was delicious!
Make use of the insect repellant on the wall near the entry!response / report this review -

Amazing encounters with koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and extremely interesting conservation program talk & bird show at 2h30 everyday. I definitely recommend the evening tour to see the nocturnal animals in activity (wombats, owls) feed kangaroos & wallabies and get a deep connection with nature. The staff members are friendly and have a deep knowledge of all the animals at the sanctuary. Amazing experience for a relaxing and fun day out. I would rate it 6 stars if I could! If you pay for the night tour you also get day entry included. The best way is to go there around 2pm, enjoy the conservation program at 2h30, then the wombat presentation at 3pm then koala encounter at 3h30 and then enjoy the rest of the sanctuary until 5pm, go for dinner to mornington and come back for the evening tour at 8h15. You'll get to hold a python if you are brave enough!
