Rented a bike here to exercise and ride the Capital City bike trail. Chose the mountain bike and rode for 2 hrs. Staff were friendly and very informative. Will do it again!
I rented a pushbike at Freddy's Bike Rental for cycling Tasmania . These guys were pretty gentle and helped me with all my needs. It was a great opportunity for me renting a push bike in Melbourne and set over to Tasmania by Ferry.
In the past I had a lot of trouble with my push bike carrying it with me by airplane. So many regulations, rules to consider and even from airline to airline they are different. OK. you will not get the bike like you use at home, but a bike for long rides (no city bike), which is in well maintained. But despite of it you should have enough essential repair tools with you and you should be able to repair some stuff for example centralize the wheel by tighten the spokes, like I had to do. And it was not a problem to extend my rental time for a few days in order to have a longer stay on Tasmania. Thanks guys for having a great time in Tasmania.
Kind regards from Germany
I had a blast with Freddy's Bikes! We rented road bikes for an afternoon and rode around the Capital City trail. It was amazing! The guys at Freddy's made sure we all had the right fit and we were all set for our ride. It was easy to follow the trail along the river and the views were gorgeous. Definitely stop at the Farm Cafe near the Convent!
This bike tour is suitable for those who love to explore Melbourne city and learn some histories for each monument and building we visited. Route and level of difficulties is categorise as low to midium depending on individual fitness (total of 5 slopes). Condition on the bike is fairly good and comfortable to ride in the city.
I would highly recommend Freddy's Bike Tours to anyone who wants to do something fun and see Melbourne in a different way. We had a great time & Freddy was a great tour guide. I must say that we did get the best looking tour guide too ;)
