Attended a sit down dinner for about 15 people. The food was great but it took one and a half hours for our entree share plates to arrive, which were pre-ordered. They could have brought us some bread or something while we waited.

Nice place! We manage to get a table in the restaurant area (behind the pub area), the setting is great (a bit of French and English atmospheres). The staff is fairly friendly and the service is pleasant.
The food is not fine-dining but more into well-executed pub food (Toulouse sausages, fish and chips and wagyu beef are tasty); same for desserts.
I would definitely go back to the restaurant (the pre-booked Chateaubriand sounds promising for next time) and would definitely advise people to do so.
On the bad side is the noise when the restaurant area is full.

Menu and food was ok but nothing outstanding. Service was patchy at best. Waited ages for food. Staff seemed to be out of their depth on the busy night we were there and even ran into each other (literally) at one point. Also, extremely noisy restaurant! Can’t hear a word people at my own table were saying. Spend a bit of money on acoustics! Won’t be going back.

I had a wonderful feed here and the atmosphere is pleasant with good lighting.
It was my first time here so not sure if the set up is like this usually but one star off because the seating arrangement made for a rather cramped dining experience. Regularly shuffling and leaning forward to let people past or to the bar was mildly annoying.
To be honest it was a small price to pay for such tasty and rich food and good times with friends.
    Well done

Firstly the booking from Dimmi wasn't even registered so had to wait for the table. Staff were also fairly friendly but were not always attentive. The steak was chewy despite paying over $50 and they didn't offer any changes or reimbursement despite leaving it half eaten and telling the chefs it was not up to par. The vibe and decor was top notch but really need to pickup their game. Will not return.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice casual pub to get a steak. Got a table straight away and service was really good. We both ordered the same steak however my boyfriend asked for medium rare and I asked for well done. The two steaks came out and mine was literally half the size of my boyfriends (smaller than my palm). A bit rediculous considering the price. I never complain, however on this occasion I confronted the waiter and he claimed "because it was well done" and brushed it off. I contacted my father who owns a restaurant himself to confirm if this is true, he strongly disagreed with what the waiter said. My boyfriends steak was very rare and unchewable. Chips were premade and dry. I wouldn't recommend it.

Underwhelming & understaffed on the Sunday that we visited.

Not sure if the newly introduced penalty rate cuts on a Sunday have anything to do with it.

We had one person looking after the whole room (approx 10-12 tables).

Our Sunday roast was dished out within 5minutes of ordering, no vegetables and luke warm kipfler potatoes. Also, ordered the 'wine to match' only to find that once we had eaten the last two saddle goat Sunday roasts, the 'special' changed to sirloin steak with the exact same two wine's 'to match'. Won't be rushing back in a hurry that's for certain.

Wonderful dining experience! The food was well presented (and delicious!) We took our time to enjoy each morsel. Great service. Waiter was patient with our questions about food and wine. A memorable experience. Loved the different dining spaceseach with its own look and feel. Every detail, such as vintage framed pictures scattered on wall, leadlight feature in side door all add to the elegance. Look forward to returning for special occasions with family and friends.

Amazing food from celebrity chef Shaun Donovan and great personalised service from all the staff. Great place for taking family, friends or your corporate clients. Really good function rooms and cellar area are a must for those looking to entertain staff or clients.

Beautiful beer garden which is also non-smoking. Pub itself is quite nice but not one of my favourites. Has a rather sophisticated, but not pretentious atmosphere about it. Does feel a little out of place in Fitzroy.
