I've always been happy with Europcar, but this time I was particularly happy. I had booked a Toyota Corolla to drive from Canberra to Melbourne (which is a fine car!), and when I arrived at Canberra airport to pick it up the young lady at Europcar noticed that I was driving to Melbourne and that a Volvo of similar size was available and offered it as a free upgrade. I accepted the upgrade and was absolutely delighted with it.

I can't believe how bad the service was. I rang on 3 separate days, made the booking not once but twice, including credit card details. Was never called back (as promised twice) only to learn eventually that they could not meet my order at all anyway. I will never, ever use Europcar. I'd rather walk! (would give zero stars if it was an option)
