Affordable car rental; friendly and helpful staff; straightforward booking process. Factor in that you need time to get the courtesy shuttle to/from the airport (10 to 20 minutes depending on the wait). Budget car was perfect for me and in great condition. Easy to drive. Will definitely hire from this company again.

Overall a great experience with East Coast. Communication was fantastic and the car we hired did the job and when comparing prices with companies that are located at the airport, it's a great cost cutting option. One fault was that they didn't receive my communication about our delayed flight which caused some issues and unnecessary worry for us. Luckily they were very accommodating and were able to solve the problem pretty quickly.

From booking a car to picking it up to droppingit off - their service has been fantastic.

I particularly requested for a manual transmission car; they had it available and in very good condition. I rented it for 2 days and was very happy with their car and their service. Will definitely recommend them to friends and family.

Excellent and honourable service from East Coast car rentals.
The provided vehicle was in excellent order and as advertised.
It was clean, pick up and return to the airport was efficient.
On returning the vehicle I remarked that a new "scratch" had appeared on the vehicles rear offside bumper bar, the event unwitnessed by myself, during the hire.
The hire car representative who was inspecting the vehicle on return started to remove the " scratch" with his fingernail and then completed the job with some soapy water.
He explained that it was rubberized material from a bumper bar.
I was very pleasantly surprised by such an honourable and honest act.
I will certainly use this company again.

Highly recommend East Coast Car Rentals. The rates were competitive and the communication was great. The Suzuki Baleno I got was in a practically new conditions. Their car fleet is in very good age too. People are friendly.

They seem to be the best priced car rental agency around the Mascot area. Their cars are always immaculate, inside and out. The staff are very friendly, and are always there to help with any needs you may have. I always book with them whenever I'm in need of a rental car - whether it's for 2 days, or 2 weeks. I would recommend them to anyone!

The worst experience ever! I rented a car in Sydney but they had only provided phone number of gold coast (head office) in the form. When I had problem with the car they had to keep me behind the line for long to transfer my message to Sydney office. Staffs so tiered, overloaded with tasks, not friendly, kind of aggressive and slow working (keep you waiting for long). Not helpful at all, with the broken car I was the person who had to call 10 times to chase up with the towing truck but they did not call or text to inform even once. They just make money with charging clients for the possible damages that have not even proven yet by the mechanic. Customer service less than zero! The quality of cars average. Next time I will rent a car from a known car rental agency even though a bit more expensive to not ruin my trip and temper with such an awful car rental!

First of all, be aware that even though they advertise their vehicle pickup to be at the Sydney Airport, this is not the case. They have no desk, or cars, or even staff at the airport. You need to phone them to come and fetch you from the airport. Same when leaving. So now the added time for the drop off makes a long pre flight start even longer. Then they gave me a car with a part filled tank and told me I need to refill the car to the same level before returning or else they will charge me for a refill???

A short web search and I found these guys at 1/3 to 1/2 of the price of the better known competitor companies at Sydney Airport. Reason: their depot is very close to (but not at) the airport and hence requires an efficient shuttle service. The wait for the shuttle service was about 2 minutes, and the depot is 2 minutes away.
- Front desk customer service was professional, but the warehouse delivery guys could do with a friendlier personality.
- Was given a car with petrol 3/4 full, and when asked, I was then told that I don't need to fill it up completely when returning it, just 3/4 full again hmmm.
- If booking online, you don't need to buy 'Excess Insurance', it can be purchased at the Depot Counter for a much cheaper price.
**** Overall, we're very satisfied with this business, especially how cheap their prices are ****

Don't use this service. There are a lot of hidden costs. We were charged in advance for the car, and when we arrived they wanted us to pay again, saying the third party company we booked through charged us, not them. They were rude and unhelpful about this, insisting we sort out their mistake / decision to use third party companies.
There are no signs to find the pickup location for the car at the Sydney airport, instead you call the helpline and they tell you to wait near an unmarked staircase to be picked up and taken to the car hire place.
The deals for this brand of rentals look good online, but in reality after you've paid for all the costs they lump you with on arrival, it's not worth it. Compulsory insurance, any toll road expense etc are all extras.
The crazy thing was also the $1000 excess if you crash. You choose for them to either hold it as a bond or you pay $17 per day of hire to keep the excess cost at $335 or so if you crash. You pay them for doing nothing wrong, or you give them a grand. Seems overpriced and fishy. Again, this isn't made clear when you book online.
On the positive side, the actual car worked and was clean, although it wasn't what we booked online.

It was only then once I arrived to pick up the car (with wife and kids waiting at the hotel for what should have been a quick turnaround) that they told me that they could provide the car seats, but couldn't install them, for liability reasons. When they handed over the car, I found that they had half-installed one seat, and incorrectly installed the other. I then had to remove both so that I could install them properly. I also had to hassle them and wait for ages before I could get the missing pieces required to actually install the seats correctly. Not only that, they tried to tell me not to bother, as if my kids' safety wasn't that important, or at least not important enough for them to be bothered looking in the draw under the desk for the missing clips. Just bad people. Not worth the small cost saving for going with this half-baked operation.

Best prices in Australia. Best personel to look after you. Cleanest brightest car lot and love the all white cars. The only drawback (if you can call it that), is to make sure you know where the car lot is before you head to the lot on the way to the airport. Don't look for the car lot just before you are catching your plane. Plan ahead. Once you know where you are going, there is good service to get you to the airport with all of your luggage,.

Deserve a much higher rating than they have --- I have used East Coast for many years now, and find they work as fast and as efficiently as possible to get me going and also at drop off. The team are all genuine and attentive, which is amazing given that they have such intense jobs: Lyn, Daniella, Ali in the Office, and drivers like Rose and Shelley are wonderfully friendly, thoughtful and attentive, and have been so on every visit. Last time I got a new car with 8.4km on the clock and a 2min check in, A reliable, value for money alternative to the majors at the airport: they are a minute away by their courtesy shuttle buses.

I had not used East Coast before but found they were the best value, but also provided an excellent service - even though they were not based on site at the airport, the swift pick up and amazing service more than made up for it. Highly recommend.
