Great shop to get a lot of hard to find music and media. Definitely worth the trek to that part of town !
Great store for discovering unknown artists at good prices but $50 for a King Gizz vinyl? No thanks
This place is amazing. The second hand records they have are really good and very cheap. I can always find some rare things with a cheap price. And the staff here is so friendly and very helpful! Love this place (ᵒ̴̶̷͈́ - ૢᵒ̴̶̷͈̀)
I literally always find something amazing. Literally every time.
great store, great store, especially the saturday morning staff. They always have a great smile and are very helpful for all their customers. GO TEAM
Love buying secondhand CDs at Dixons in Brunswick st! The staff are always friendly, happy to chat music and playing great music whenever we come in. Have been goong there for years and years and now bring my daughters in so they can find music they like; the staff are so helpful and patient letting them listen at the music station and have great recommendations too.
Pretty cool store with a good selection and some pretty decent prices but WHAT IS IT WITH DIXONS and the miserable male staff? The females have tended to be ok (and I'm going by my experiences at the old Prahran store, Clayton and the old Camberwell one too) - there is one guy in particular with brown curly hair - absolute misery guts, so unfriendly and rude. Wouldn't know how to smile and greet a customer if he was paid to - oh, wait - he is paid to. Don't mean to make a mountain out of a molehill but how hard is it to acknowledge a customer and treat them with a modicum of respect. It can seriously affect your business too. Your job ain't that stressful guys!
I used to enjoy this place but it is going backwards fast. I've now sacked it for good. As someone who collects vinyl I'm shocked at the state of some of the stuff they put out for sale. Nearly everything (including cds) are overpriced. You can often get brand new versions of the cds for just $5 more at JB. They take the plastic covers off the records when you buy - cheapskates!!
Dont even bother calling them to ask if they have what youre after because staff members will lie to you and say that they dont. On more than one occasion ive popped into the shop after a phone call and have found what ive been looking for. Not helpful at all.
The staff at Fitzroy's Dixon's are repugnantly rude. Elitism is turned up to 11.
The slow walk to the counter to give assistance, because it interrupted a critique on Nick Cave's latest documentary is embarrassing. Don't they realise many selling items have hit hard times, perhaps even have been retrenched or can't work due to illness, or to give extra funds in assisting in taking time off work to care for a terminally ill mate or family member. It is offensive to have to deal with added humiliation, while selling something that still holds nostalgic weight is depressing. This doesn't mean I would want McDonald's type customer service. Just someone being present and helpful so the most can be made for all parties in the transaction and trading of goods.
I absolutley love coming here, I can always find some gold records at the best prices. There are always some great finds. This is definitley my go to record store.
There's a few reviews here about rude staff at Dixons but I've never struck any. I've been buying second hand DVDs here for many years. I've always found the staff to be helpful. I love browsing through the shelves here.
