Beautiful outlook from villas onto the course.
Nicely designed accommodation. Very comfortable.
The fittings and fixtures were showing a bit of wear and tear.
Peaceful.

The good:
Bed was comfortable and clean
Reception service was good
Lovely quiet setting in the bush
The bad:
The cleanliness of the villa was definitely sub-par. There was pubic hairs on the basin and a squished cockroach on the sliding bathroom door. Sliding doors on cupboards were broken and the whole place was just run down and in need of maintenance.response / report this review -

Nice resort. Quiet and peaceful. Good for a quiet weekend. Good breakfast buffet. Rooms were nice. Good property with some lakes, pool and golf course.

Stayed in the 2 bedroom premier villa. Was clean, fully equipped kitchen, with heaters, TV in each bedroom with foxtel downstairs in the living room. Beds were comfortable, service was absolutely fantastic.The included buffet breakfast was phenomenal. Was worth every penny and would 100% stay there the next time I take a trip down Hunter valley.

Rooms were comfortable (loved the gas fireplace) and in a great location. We had a family of five stay in the 3 bedroom villa with plenty of room. I have to mention the lack of items in the kitchen though - we struggled to cook meals with the basic items provided. For instance the oven didn't have one single rack - cooking pizzas was rather difficult! I'm just glad we didn't pay full price (Groupon voucher). We didn't use the pool etc as it was too cold and it was too far from our room - the accommodation units are spread out all over this expansive resort.

Wonderful quiet and scenic golfing estate. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms massive! Beds are comfy, bath and shower massive, rooms spacious and uncluttered.

We stayed in a three bedroom villa. It was generous in size and allowed for five friends to stay together without feeling cramped. We had some great service by some of the staff there, going the extra mile. However, that wasn't consistent. The pool, the tennis court and the bathroom connected to these were not well kept. There was a little back and forth with the restaurant staff over an offer that was sent to us for cheaper breakfast, but we got there in the end. Though the food left a lot to be desired. Avoid the powdered eggs. Stay, but come here to be self sufficient

The Oaks resort is located well in the Hunter Valley. The room we stayed was good: TVs in the living room and the bedroom, a spa and a balcony with a view over the valley. We couldn't cook in the kitchen though as there was only a microwave oven and no stove tops. The food at their pub-style restaurant was very decent.

Nicely hidden in the grounds of they're lovely golf course and easily accesible in the Hunter Valley wine region. Rooms I stayed in were villa/duplex in quiet bush surroundings.
The rooms are tired and feel well worn. The resort is after all is 22 years old and could use some investment in updating.
The pools are nice and public areas neatly presented, if not missing some of the resorts previous exclusivity.response / report this review
