Clean, comfortable rooms and lovely views over the park (from one side of the hotel). Small stroll to city Centre

My “go-to” hotel while in Canberra. Easy access to the local eateries and shopping. And the staff are top notch.

Great hotel. Connected to the Canberra casino is an added bonus. Rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend

It was alright. Room was clean but age is showing. We were woken up in the early morning by gardeners in the adjacent park. It was a points redemption so no complaints still

Very convenient location. Friendly staff. IHG membership points. Comfortable rooms, however the design is a bit odd and old. The showers could definitely be more modern (taps, shower head, curtain, toilets,), and that's after they've "upgraded" them all. Shower amenities also feel cheap. Breakfast is probably the best for Canberra hotels.

Nice hotel, though a little old internally. Rooms basically nice, though the room I stayed in needed some maintenance. Safe not large enough for a 15" laptop. Bed was very comfortable, good selection of pillows. Hanging space in wardrobe limited for taller items. Easy walk to the shopping areas

We checked into the hotel on 17 April for a two night stay and were offered an upgrade to a suite (room 115) for an extra $70/ night. It seemed like a reasonable offer so we took it.
We were then told the room isn't ready so we would need to wait about 30 minutes so we agreed to that also and went to have a drink in the bar while we waited.
The room was prepared in the 30 minutes so that was fine.
The room itself was fine also.
However the horror started at around 6am in the morning with the loudest continual banging noise I've ever heard in all my travels (and I've travelled a lot). At first we thought it was probably our neighbours packing to check out or kids but as it turns out this hotel has a gym directly under suite 115 and whatever it is that was being used down there felt like a construction site. The banging permeated through the walls constantly.
We complained and the staff said they would go down to stop the noise. By the time it settled we were up anyway. It was ridiculous.
Next morning we expected that the problem was solved but it was exactly the same again. It was seriously impossible to sleep through the noise.
We complained again and the staff went to sort it out "again" but it didn't stop.
Finally we were told the hotel doesn't actually own the gym under the suite 115 so there was little they could do. Why they didn't tell us the first day and move us then is beyond me. Why they even use this room is beyond me.
They gave us free breakfast reluctantly to componsate. We refuse to pay the upgrade charge. There is no excuse for
a suite being sold that surely must have every occupant that has ever had this room have to endure that noise. It's a farce.
I can't believe Crowne would tolerate this.
To add to the mess the pool is also located outside this suite and on day two of our stay the pool cleaner decided it would be a great idea to whack the crap out of some hosing he had to clean out I presume at around 6.15am. That went on for about 30 minutes.
I have NEVER complained about a hotel before ( and have stayed in more than I care to remember) but this was a complete shocker.
The Hotel Management would do well to sort the gym issue out ASAP and have staff think about the noise they are making at unreasonable times of the day/night.
They won't be seeing me again at this hotel.

Was there with a few friends socialising and enjoying the casino. It has changed the interior decor and looks superb. Its quite smaller compared to Sydney though.

A great hotel. Staff very friendly, room was very nice and comfortable. Breakfast buffet very nice, a great way to start the day. A little peeved with 1.5% credit card service charge though.

Rooms are pleasant but a little dated, given the price point for the rooms,jt pushes the friendship on acceptable. Bathrooms are a bit tired could use a refit and shower curtains just a tad smelly. Not a deal breaker but does taint the experience. Staff are totally delightful, super friendly and accommodating, can't fault any of the staff I have encountered. Pool and gym are great, only annoyance is the early closing time. In the summer it would be great to see if open a bit later.
