The campsite at Ned's is not accessible by car, you have to carry in all your gear across a small bridge. This makes it ideal for low key camping and it's also the trailhead for the main Cathedral range hike as well as a walk along side the river. Great place to stay, the river is lots of fun for the kids in Summer.

Absolutely amazing. The trail climbing up Sugarloaf Mountain was unlike anything I've ever done before - a truly unique experience. A huge recommendation from me!

Stunning walking, scrambling and climbing. These can be dangerous, so know what you are doing. Little to no biking. Camping gets expensive quickly. Not much for casual sight-seers.

Camped at night and hiked up to Ned's peak the next morning. Great experience. Wonderful 360 degree view at the very top.
Could be a bit hard and frustrating for beginners.

Best hike within 2 hours of Melbourne.
Rock scrambling, great views. Challenging but most people could accomplish the hikes here

Amazing place! Mostly challenging tracks with awesome views. Make sure you come and do some hikes. You will not regret. Pack plenty of water!

Cathedral Ranges would be good for the typical camper / trekker. If your up for a physical challenge, definitely the place for you. It's also a great place to try out your tracking skills as you'll need to navigate yourself through the dense bush.
