I was utterly devastated with my experience with Bowra & O'Dea @ Cannington.
Included in the cost of their funerals is live streaming and orbiturary pages etc and none of these were offered to the family and friends of the deceased otherwise they would have been available.
Bowra & O'Dea have taken advantage of 3 young adults who did not know any better due to inexperience with death which so isnt their fault. But the fact that Bowra& O'Dea have done this absolutely disgusts me Shame on you big time and how dare you. . .
I had to give 1 star to give this review otherwise you would not have even have got 1 star from me . . .
From meeting Annette at the front desk to David who helped us plan everything, Heather and Kieran who helped us on the day I would like to thank you all for being so professional and also kind to my family and I during this difficult time. David especially replying emails late night or over weekends at times helped myself and family feel at ease with all the things we were worrying about. The way you all talked to my family and I was great. We always felt comfortable with the words you spoke and the way it was said. A big thank you all again guys and I appreciate everything you have done for us so much.
Mum passed away in April 2021, I had pre paid her funeral, from the time we sat down with David who was amazing stepped us through everything we wanted and needed to do and gave us options we could look at.
We live streamed the service and David got his people to do a photo point with music which was perfect. And organising the Deakin to hold Mums service he was great and made it a happy time for all i thought
To the whole team there my thanks for all your help our family was so great full with everything you done and again thanks to David
they have no procedures or policy's, they will sell you a coffin but when it comes to paperwork they will sign anything for anyone, I'd see a lawyer before you go here, I wouldn't use them ever again! cost me a fortune in legal fees
Space is not too big and because the doors had to stay open you don't have a sense of privacy
Their officer who handled our initial interview and who arranged my wife's funeral was excellent. However another officer was substituted on the day. It was a Friday afternoon, a time I have since learned is an undertakers busiest. This second bloke was beautifully presented but not up to the job. It was their responsibility to arrange a speaker system in the church. It was there but was not turned on till more than halfway through the service. More than half of the people back in the depth of the church did not hear the eulogy. I venture that people are more interested in hearing the eulogy than admiring the undertaker's turnout. I suspect that this company cannot resist the temptation to take on work that it may not be able to competently carry out.
The BEST funeral directors.
Their kindess and compassion is limitless.
Their professionalism is also outstanding.
I would highly recommend them to anybody for a first class experience.
Can't speak of them highly enough, especially Kate who helped us all through a very difficult time.
