This was our first time to the Great Barrier Reef and we had an amazing experience. The crew was friendly and helpful, and ensured everyone on board had everything they needed. We went on the Calypso for snorkeling and scuba diving- they take you to a few dive spots, serve lunch, snacks, and drinks, and they even do a little info session so you can learn more about the reef. I recommend it for people of all ages- thank you for everything!!!

Great day on the reef with Blue Dive. We chose them as we're reasonably experienced divers and weren't keen in going in big mixed ability groups like the other operators offer. Seb L was our guide, great guy and made the day really easy and enjoyable for us. The photos he took were top notch too, and included in the price. Thanks for the great experience!

If I was able to give this team more than 5 stars I would. My husband and I booked Blue Dive before we headed to Port Douglas. With the intention of completing our Certified PADI diver courses, we were paired with Seb(2) for the closed water pool dive day and then the following 2 open water dive days onboard the Poseidon to the outer barrier reefs (Agincourt).
Seb2, Haylie and the team at Blue Dive were fantastic. We wouldn’t hesitate to booked with them again or recommend them to anyone who wanted to explore the Great Barrier Reef.
Now as a disclaimer; I am not a strong swimmer… I can float and paddle with the best of them but as a swimmer, I usually have to pinch my nose to go underwater – not confident and although the idea of scuba was exciting, I was pretty scared. While my husband completed his certification, I choose not to go on after failing the “Fully Flooded Mask Clearing” exercise. Seb, our instructor, was beyond patient, never pushing and extremely supportive. Since I did not complete the certification course, I snorkeled for the next 2 days. My husband had also booked a private tour for our 3rd and final day on the reef; this time with another employee, Haylie. Haylie is a sweetheart, who was just as supportive and patient as Seb2. This day I was able to go scuba-ing with her and my husband. This is called Discover Scuba for the non-certified diver – where 2 exercises must be completed – Partial Flooded Mask Clearing and a Regulator Recovery. Haylie never left my side, and would point out fish or items of interest to insure that I was enjoying my time underwater (my husband was doing his own thing on the GoPro). After that first dive I felt more confident in the water and it is because of Haylie and Seb that I am going to go on to complete my certification now (after practicing some skills first).
As for the crew of Posiedon, which is the boat we had all 3 days on the reefs, was amazing. We had stops at Phil’s, The Point, Turtle Bay, Castle Rock, and our favorite Stonehenge.

3 dives, 1 perfect day - with a brilliant team!

I was traveling with my girlfriend and we wanted to dive some of the outer reef. I checked the internet and emailed a few companies and of them, Blue Dive were far and away the best. Not only were they one of the few companies that gave us the chance to do 3 dives on the day, they also offered a guide, who would photograph us and what we'd seen. They also went the extra mile as, unbeknown to my girlfriend, I was planning to propose, underwater, during one of the dives. Jorg in advance and Alexander on the day were brilliant. We had a signal for when Alex would set the shell with the ring in on the floor, take my GoPro and start filming. Despite some tears and a few scuba issues, everything went well (she said yes!) and we now have some superb photos and a video of this important moment. Back on the ship, we were given some champagne to cap off a wonderful day.

Back to the diving, we were lucky enough to see lots of sea creatures: schools of barracudas, clown fish, MASSIVE groupers and the highlight was swimming with a turtle for about 5 minutes. The kit we were given was top quality and the added bonus is that as the reef here is pretty shallow (less than 20m) you can get the best out of your dives being only Open Water, rather than advanced.

I really can't rate this company and these people highly enough, simply put, if you want to dive the best parts of the Great Barrier Reef from Port Douglas and you don't use Blue Dive, well, you've made a mistake!

I spent two days reef diving and one day diving the nearby crater lake Lake Eacham with Blue Dive.

My private dive guide Kat was friendly and knowledgeable. A private guide was slightly more expensive but definitely worth it. No big groups, there is flexibility and just more chill.

Lake Eacham was also a good day trip. There were multiple stops along the way (my dad loved the kangaroos!).

The staff were also super responsive and professional during the booking process.

Very happy with the service from start to finish. Fantastic day on the reef. Patient and competent instruction from Alex . Wrasse, snapper, spade fish, pipe fish, parrot fish in abundance. Favourite spot was Barracuda Bommie - featuring schools of barracuda and so very many fish. Thank you.

Even with rain we made the best decision by doing the PADI Open Water Diver with Blue Dive.
Not only the locations were awesome but also our instructor Alex. We felt safe, comfortable and had lots of fun due to his way of interacting with everyone of us. With a small group of only five "students" everyone was able to learn in their own speed. On top Alex pointed out the different sea creatures that populate the reef, their names and characteristics.

The boat "Poseidon" that took us out to the Reef was very nice and all Crew-Members as well as all Blue Dive-Instructors were very helpful and cared for us.

We can honestly recommend Blue Dive and hope to be back for further diving experience soon.

Alex was a fantastic guide - I was a bit nervous from not diving for quite a few years, but he made us all feel very comfortable, even providing a quick refresher of techniques on our first dive.

It was well worth it to have a personal guide in a small group, both in terms of feeling safer underwater and also in the experience of being on the reef away from the crowds. Alex is also a very talented underwater photographer - the photos from our dives are an amazing memento of a bucket-list experience!

The ability to get 3 full dives per day, and also have someone to help set up the equipment and guide us through everything, before, during, and after the dives, was lovely.

Everyone we spoke with at Blue Dive was friendly, professional, and above and beyond helpful. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.
