My husband and l recently visited..we found the staff really pushy..they wanted our order a minute after we sat down .
Soon as we finished our Entree our main came out..not giving us a break between courses staff didn't smile and were not friendly and the venue was extremely noisy. We wont be going backresponse / report this review -

This was one of my favourite places to dine in Geelong however a recent slip in service and quality has seen it quickly drop of my list. The deserts are a little left of centre and just don’t work.

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever encountered. If you are looking for a disappointing experience look no further than Black Salt .. they will forget your orders, leaving you waiting, forget your drinks, blame tech issues never mind actually doing their job and actually checking an order has gone through I would HATE to see them on a busy night.. you may be thinking.. oh they must of been busy.. but no there was maybe 4 tables !!! they are that bad, they can not handle a nearly empty restaurant. If you have a dinner booked cancel it if you have a function booked, do yourself a favour and cancel it, find anywhere else! Mt favourite part was the manager Daniel "There is no need to be aggressive" this was in response to my comments It is not bloody good enough " Something I still stand by considering the inept waitress brought out a single meal and didn't think that was weird even better was when she even admitted the SAME THING happened the night before can you believe it? I couldn't.but there you go Black Salt ladies and Gentlemen.. do yourself a favour and NEVER go here

Eye fillet was very dry. For $39 it comes with 3 leaves as a side. The main salmon is more like a salad.
Service poor. For a venue that claims to be high quality and charge the prices they charge the 1 star is for that reason. The food is better than 1 star but overall experience was poor and definitely not high end.response / report this review -

Very disappointing. Pricing questionable.Can of coke $7.50. Wine $12.20 for a very small amount. Entree of chips - waited one hour- main came out first. Then the entree. Stroganoff tough and runny. Another guests main meal came out then the side order 10 minutes later. Feel dishes were overpriced and service was poor.

Soup entrée with no spoon, I had to ask for cutlery to eat the main dish, Stroganov that was not and will be served tomorrow as Hungarian goulash. Not to mention the other entrée, two very thin slices of almost raw eggplant with a slice of cheese and a teaspoon of red stuff, $16. Tomato vinaigrette? I think not. My husband enjoyed his fish and chips, I can think of better ways to spend $150.

Not the great dining experience it once was, the fixed price economical lunch has gone and the mains now all need additional side dishes to be purchased. It is still the same great location but not the same great dining experience, with management and staff changes last couple of visits have ended in disappointment
