Didn’t get as far as actually eating there. The front of house staff woman was rude and barely gave us the time of dayeven stating that “they’re too busy today and don’t have a spare table for 4”. Not a polite”could you come back in 10 minutes”. After taking 5 minutes to even acknowledge that we were standing there, her manners were shocking to say the least. Customer service goes a long way and people are happy to wait, if the staff are friendly and explain. We probably would have spent extra money on drinks while waiting for a table as we had plenty of time (and money) to spare on our girls weekend away from home. Pretty disappointing in comparison to all of the other beautiful shops that we visited and the other cafe that we spent our money at. Being busy is not an excuse to be rude and if you can’t handle the heat then get out of the kitchen!

We found Vela Nine a great little cosy cafe. The arancini balls are to die for. Staff very friendly. My husband left his jacket on the chair and they kindly posted it to us in Melbourne. Now how's that for service.

If you're on holiday and not in a rush it's a nice place to sit..But the service is slow and just having a coffee made takes forever. Will probably just order from the surfside holiday park coffee tent next time.
