Just amazing. All the colours and the passionate staff giving us information. Most interesting for me is the Hercules Moth.. emerges from the cocoon with no mouth or stomach, just a singular mission for its few remaining days..
When we arrived in Kuranda by train we decided to go straight to the Butterfly sanctuary and at first I thought we would only be there a short time but upon entering we were instantly captivated by so many beautiful butterflies.
We toured the place multiple times because each time we circulated we would see different butterflies. The tour into the caterpillar breeding lab was very interesting.
I have included a few of my pretty pictures just to give you a glimpse of what its like.
Well worth the money- highly recommend this place!
Was very good, the butterflies keep landing on my wife's white top. We enjoyed it.
I loved it here. It was so relaxing. Rather than walk around the shops of Kuranda, my kids and I spent a couple of hours here relaxing and taking in the beauty.
This is really great! First, you have all these butterflies surrounding you while you wander around the sanctuary. Second, you get heaps of interesting information about butterflies. Don't miss the laboratory! We went to Yorkeys Knob Tourist Information first and got great vouchers for it! Worth to go there first to get some vouchers or tour booking.
Great time, fantastic staff and the kids were just amazed at all the variety as they had
great place to take the fam. I held a cairns birdwing
Awesome place and the kids loved it. Very good educationally including being able to watch them work in the laboratory.
Beautiful butterflies. Really nice staff who are very knowledgeable and informative. The tour is light hearted, but very educational.
Delightful place to see a variety of native butterflies close-up and personal. Lots of interesting information. Great for children, photographers, nature-lovers and appreciators.
