Have stayed here several times, the staff are always friendly and helpful and the park and ammenities are clean. Will be staying again when I visit Cardwell and will definitely recommend to others.

WARNING WARNING..
Avoid Staying here..
Full of seasonal fruit picking drunk back packers who live here almost all year round..
They drink and make a lot of noise most nights until 1am or earlier..
If you want a restful place to stay while in Cardwell DO NOT STAY AT THE KOOKABURRA it would be more peaceful staying in a camp site situated at the end of a 24 hour RAAF base airstrip with Hornets taking off constantly.
This place is terrible

Very dirty and rundown amenties. Staff very unpleasant. Too expensive. Noisy, drunk permanent residents partied all night. Very untidy grounds.

Myself & girlfriend stayed here for 3months and had a brilliant time. Its a lovely place to stay, safe, beautiful & the people are friendly & we were looked after well. I would definetly recommend this to friends & i know i will be back in the future!! Leonie is a lovely women & cares for all her quests. It was a pleasure 😊

Stayed in the villa for a couple of nights and really enjoyed my stay. The management and staff are really friendly and helpful. Good to see all the facilities are all clean and the grounds too. Thank you kookaburra for a wonderful experience.

Disappointing stopover on a Friday night. The backpackers accommodation onsite (which I did not know about until I had booked into a basic but clean motel unit) had a party which went very late into the night - well after midnight. Groups of girls screaming and men shouting drunkenly made it impossible to get to sleep. Cannot recommend this caravan park. I usually go to another in town which is always very peaceful but felt like trying out another in this pretty town. A BIG MISTAKE. A terrible nights sleep ahead of a full day's drive to Rocky in the morning. My advice: do not stay there if you want a good night's sleep.
