Visited for the David La Chapelle exhibition and loved the gallery's permanent collection as well. It's an impressive place for the visitor.
What a simply stunning gallery. The David LaChapelle exhibition was brilliant and such a coup for the Gallery.
Great display of art works. Staff very friendly.
Brilliant regional art gallery that hosts an always-impressive photo biennale with surprisingly big-hitting names, eg in 2017 they hosted David La Chappelle's first ever Australian exhibition. Permanent collections are also very worthwhile.
We go there at least once every 2 months. The exhibits are all well thought of and portray something with deep connection to the community. A must visit place when in Ballarat
Great place to see the transition of art from early 1800s to today. The historic building adds to the overall charm of the place and a lively cafe to refresh yourself at. There are also daily tours to learn about the various paintings and travel through time with a guide

Was huge, and ,the sign of design was nice,so you can know clearly about what you are watching, which artist create this and also where you are!
Wonderful gallery with a mix of old and new art. Can tend towards the traditional but draws some fantastic travelling exhibitions including the Archibald finalists.
There are great art pieces in the gallery that gives a good representation of the past. I also really enjoyed the contemporary pieces. It's also free, good way to spend couple hours in Ballarat.
