Warm and welcoming. Very personal gallery where you can see wonderful artwork and illustrations from some very imaginative childrens books. Some show the sequence from concept to finished image. The amount of effort and care taken with each artwork is amazing, a good thing because as a child these images stay with you for the rest of your life.

This is a classic homestead with a beautiful cafe, gallery and versatile function center. Dromkeen had hosted children's literary workshops for many years and continues to be a centre of gravity for artists and writers of children's books. Make sure you visit when the cafe is open and try one of Aunty Lorna's famous vanilla slices with your tea or coffee. The gallery has exhibitions that showcase some of Australia's best children's book illustrators works.
