  We had an amazing stay in the Whitehouse. The self catering apartments are clean and the beds are very comfortable and the aircon is icy cold. There are some very fancy places to stay in port Douglas but they are noisy, contain way too many people and you need a shuttle bus or car to get to town. The Whitehouse is a 5 min walk to the main strip, a 2 minute walk to the beach and surf club (great food). During the 6 nights we stayed I didn't hear any noise so I slept beautifully. Marge is an incredible host and gave great advice about day trips to choose. Can't recommend highly enough.

  Comfy and cosy apartments (almost) by the water, just a few streets away from the main road where all shops and restaurants are. Host was lovely and helpful, willing to help book any day trips from Port Douglas. Too bad there was no wifi, but then again, it helps being offline in such a relaxing place.

  We had a lengthy stay at the White house, and from day one everything was just right. The apartment was immaculate, as were the gardens and there wasn't even a leaf in the pool. Margaret, the manager, welcomed us and remained welcoming throughout our stay, Suzie, Margaret's assistant, was endlessly helpful and cheerful.
  Thank you Margaret! You are a star! You made our dream holiday come true, always ready to go the extra mile for us, even driving us to restaurants for evenings out.
  Lovely apartment. We are recommending the White house to everyone looking for a great place to stay in Port Douglas.

  Myself, family and friends (5 in total) stayed at The White House Apartments in June 2012. Our stay was unforgettable. The service received from the staff was excellent, there was never a hesitation with any questions asked, and the help received with booking sightseeing tours was exceptional. The location is wonderful (quiet, and only a short walk to everything!) Our room was clean, tidy and comfortable (including the beds). Our 5 day stay ended is myself and my partner becoming engaged, So anyone looking to go to Port Dougla,s I HIGHLY recommend a stay at The White House Apartments would only enhance your visit.

  We stayed at The White House on a family holiday with 10 of us, including two babies, and we were able to book two adjacent apartments. One of the apartments housed three generations and it worked brilliantly. The apartments were clean and it was great to be able to cook there.
  
  Being such a short walking distance to town was a positive, and I appreciated how tastefully the rooms were decorated; not just the standard, awful ‘hotel’ prints but beautiful blue cushions and clean white bedspreads – the sort of thing you would like to have in your own home. Very elegant, very Queensland!
  
  Having been to Port Douglas before I didn't think I had any questions but the lady at the front desk was so helpful that before I knew it I was even getting her advice on local chiropractors.
  
  There’s also something pretty cool about being able to tell people, “We’re staying at the White House” :)
