This has to be the friendliest family-run hotel in Salzburg. Excellent breakfast, quiet rooms. My only issue is as a person with terrible allergies is that the non-smoking room was very smoky from adjoining rooms. Hence only four-stars. If you are not allergic to smoke then this is the perfect place to stay, near train station, a short, pleasurable walk to the Old Town

Good WiFi and continental breakfast, clean. Stayed here a few nights. Nice and quiet, and a nice walk to central. Helpful to the tourist, at front desk

We stayed one night at the Hotel Hohenstaufen. Too bad. I'd like to have stayed a few extra days. Linda and her staff are caring and attentive. Please, a note on expectations. If you usually stay at the Hilton or whatever, then the Hohenstaufen may not be for you. It's clean and quiet, laid back and understated. And a very good value. I think the Hotel would be good for families. Very close to Salzburg HBF. Easy to walk to old Salzburg and the Hohensalzburg Fortress.

It's like spending a few days at an Austrian grandmother's home. That's how at-home I felt about the place in general. Having that old look gave it so much atmosphere. Breakfast is outstanding.

This hotel is run by nice, caring people. The Hotel might be old and small, but it's cosy and tidy and everything works as expected.

I have stayed here on two separate trips to Austria and had positive experiences both times. The family that runs the Hotel is very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. I plan to stay here again when I come back.
