Cool and glamorous landmark hotel. Excellent location and nice period features. Service is a bit slow though.

Great hotel great services. Nice high tea. Nice relaxing lounge. Some funny smell like gas fumes at breakfast. Asked to move away from smell and staff was accommodating. Great consierge. Pardon my spelling.

Four, Not Five-Star We supposedly had a King Deluxe Room; it looked out on roofs and was very strangely shaped. Unable to use the handheld shower; bidet was a waterfall waiting to happen. Room still not made up at 3 pm; we called and the desk asked us why this mattered to us. (We had the "Make up Room sign out all day.) Well, it mattered because it was 95 and we wanted to take a siesta along with everyone else in the hotel. P.S. the maids were well tipped by us. ??? Wifi kept fading out in the room.
Good points: Public areas are palatial and baroque; breakfast and tea were quite nice and service was excellent. The rooftop bar was lots of fun. Stay somewhere else and go to tea and the rooftop bar.response / report this review -

Great old time hotel. Enjoy a formal tea service. Great service and hospitality. Tons of marble and brass. A small rooftop pool and bar.

An amazing hotel with superb staff. We stayed here twice now and both times were anything but disappointed. The hotel is located in such a way that one needs to grab a cab and cannot really walk to many places. That said, the size of Buenos Aires makes a walking a long-winded undertaking, so that wouldn’t be a fault of the hotel as such.
Quality of the rooms, corridors and pool area was flawless. Once the staff even managed to work around us in our rooms without disturbing anybody. We felt welcome, helped when needed and taken care of: exactly what you’d expect from such a traditional and magnificent place.response / report this review -

Hotel is ok, but very bad service. Delayed check in for 2 hours, got room with awesome wall-view, when we booked room with view.

Beautiful turn of the century luxury hotel, that withholds the tradition of wonderful service, personalized attention, good bar, wonderful food. Romantic salons that respect the original style of when it was built.

I must clarify, I never stayed at this hotel and -after this last experience- I never will.
I was walking with my service dog, doing my shopping around the area. Then, I crossed the street onto Alvear Palace Hotel. Four men surrounded me, a fifth one came in shortly identifying himself as the manager. I explained my dog was a service dog, I told them they were making me feel intimidated. They walked me out of their premises. It is quite clear to me now that Alvear Palace Hotel do not care for handicap people. What ashamed, everyone else in town has been most accommodating and respectful both to me and my service dog.

It's a luxury hotel. The facilities are awesome and everything is ostensibly decorated. It's located in one the most beautiful neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. Ideal for wealthy tourists
