The experience was awful due to the bad service provided. I havent managed to get room service because it was imposed to pay in cash, I have been checked out before leaving the room, Room card not working, among other issues.

My stay at the hotel was short, however, the hospitality was good, the patrons very friendly and conversant in English so no language barrier, the rooms are classy and neat, I was able to do some work thanks to internet access. It was just pleasant to be there, thanks a lot.

Nice room, very friendly staff, gourmet bon gourmet. I would only suggest to the Management for their 4 star hotel, to train their staff in each area to apply the hotel codes of the category that were qualified.

At 10pm on 28 December 2017, I hanged breakfast request at the door knob for my breakfast between 3:30 - 04:00am, I wondered that already past 3:50am no foods were delivered yet to my room, I open the door and found out that my food request form still hanging at the door knob. I immediately reported to the front desk. it's good that they prepared and delivered my food at 4:20am. I eats immediately so I will not miss my 4:45am pick up time. Please improve this not to be happened again.

Since my previous stay, i felt the internet connection had been improved. The gym is as always great, the buffet as well. Shame the shop inside does not accept credit card.

This place reaches easily the most strict western standard: rooms are swiss-clean, air conditioning is US-cold, bar is uk-welcoming and food is French- tasty!
That is not the best of it: the staff is both professional and friendly, and will go the extra mile to make sure you do have a great experience at Tropico.

Now, be aware of the cons: the gym is popular around the city, so it might get quite crowded, and accordingly noisy, covered by s**y playlist.
More importantly, their credit card limit is so low (USD200 or so, that, practically, you cannot pay with international credit cards (Visa and MasterCard only, Amex is NOT accepted), so you'll have to do several transaction to have the privilege to be charged at the official exchange rate or pay in cash. Accordingly, your check out will take 15 to 30 mn. Plan ample time for this very complicated process

It was my second time at Tropico and I can confirm my first impression. Excellent Hotel with a very good service and with an excellent offer of Food, Services and amenities.
I've enjoyed the gym and classes. Absolutely recommended.

I spent 5 days at Hotel Tropico and those were just perfect. From the staff to the hotel accommodations, restaurant and foods, everything was perfect. Definitively, I would stay there again.

Very good hotel: the rooms are nice, huge TV screen, fridge, The bathroom is in good condition. The service at the pool bar is a bit slow but this is the only bad point I could find. The location is particularly well if you're planning for a run on the waterfront (5min away).

Friendly staff, neat room, nice and relaxing pool area, fair Internet and great quality food. Great place overall. Drinks at dinner and occasional room service was a bit slow. I enjoyed my stay and would gladly return in future.

This is a very nice hotel, the rooms are very comfortable, the buffet lunch/dinner is nice, and the gym and pool are very good.
The only minor issues were a bad smell in my bathroom coming from the drains (lasted a couple of days then disappeared) and the fact that at the buffet it can take a long time to get a drink despite there being plenty of staff - they usually take the drinks order promptly but then it takes a long time to arrive.

Clean tidy comfortable room,polite and caring staff.
All said very over priced as I travel and work all over Africa and albeit I have stayed at Tropico Hotel many times in earlier years out of my own choice for comfort.it remains a expensive stay..I realize all facilities(gym,Spa,tennis,swimming) are available but not every guest uses them if you over night

Expensive but so is all of Luanda. Great, big and clean rooms, WiFi is alright at off-peak hours, excellent gym, outside pool with a bar. Friendly staff.

Overpriced. Plain and simple.

Requested modification to room rate, but apparently no-one at hotel, even managers, have ability to discuss rates, etc.. I would need to send email to marketing department, etc., etc.

That is just wrong.

Serving of food during dinner takes a long time, more than an hour after you have ordered your food. There was also a confusion on order made. Staff should improve in their communication skills.

Ok hotel, room was nice and clean. Water was clear and food was good. Don't order room service. They won't add it to your room and I had to pay cash. $27. US for 2 eggs, bacon and toast with a Coke. No shuttle bus.

In my travels throughout Luanda, i went quit every weekend to Tropico, the staff is great, and the food is very good and not too pricy, I had the pleasure to see the final of the euro in there and let me tell you was awesome, they made a part of the Portuguese fans and the other for the Franch fans, lots of flags and to much fun near the pool. This is a hotel that a recommend you to stay if you pop in Luanda.

Really good hotel in downtown Luanda. Don't have to worry about amenities, good wifi included, restaurant is solid for a 2 week stay with a mix of buffet and menu items. Good international breakfast spread.

Great design and ambiance, perfect gym, room is very comfortable, very good buffet for dinner and breakfast, convenient location. To improve: service attitude, at check in highlight need to open credit card for dinner and other inhouse purchase, very slow WiFi; overall a great experience with room for improvement.

The sauna/locker rooms were perfect. Enjoyed the Turkish shower, sauna room, & Jacuzzi. Also, the shower on the changing room was great. The food was just ok; the restaurant was nothing special at all. The restaurant is poorly decorated, and the food is not that great. The bedroom was nice, but the shower was awful as the water was completely dirty/brown. Was unable to take a shower in the room due to dirty water. Also, the massage services were good.
