First impressions, absolute terrible. Check in very slow. Room very out dated and below standard UAE standard.
Belgium bar, terrible service, tried to sell us bad wine. Slow service.
Room, TV no sound, room outdated.

Luxury might be a stretch, but it's certainly decent enough. Clean rooms and the location is good, but you can see it needs a refurb from the last one completed in 2007. The restaurants serve good food, although a real 'down' is the breakfast service. Terrible, terrible for a supposed luxury hotel to have staff clearly not trained, and a strong feeling that the guest gets in the way of the general aim of getting as many people fed as quickly as possible and then get those guests away somewhere else. It is literally food by numbers - you're given a number and told to sit and wait, then seated and left alone, and when finally getting coffee or tea it's cold, never to order, no milk given, no spoons etc - really, really basic things - and the staff look hassled and untrained. I'm sure they're perfectly decent people, so this is a management issue.

Enjoy a never ending feast of 16 different dishes of meat, if you are a meat lover chances are you heard of Chamas before, but just in case you didn't, well this should be on top of your to-do list. It's a great place to celebrate an occasion, with live music and very welcoming staff. Will definitely visit again in the future.

We were at Intercontinental Abu Dhabi for a weekend getaway - although we ended up enjoying the beach time we had, our experience(s) with the staff were terrible.
Check-in: we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who took our details, luggage tag and told us to wait for our room to be ready and they'd offer us a welcome drink (even though it was well after 2pm so this should've been ready straight away). We ended up waiting 30 minutes, no one came with a drink and we ended up having to go ask again for our key. The bags arrived 30 minutes after we got our key, which delayed us even more.
Restaurants: we ate twice at the hotel, on the beach where we got plastic cutlery to eat our pasta, it took them another 10 minutes to get us proper cutlery, as if this was an unusual request. The next time we ate at the hotel was the breakfast buffet, the food wasn't very tasty and I literally had one of the waiters snatch a croissant from my hand claiming that if I put it in the rolling toaster, it'll explode. A second later someone else's croissant rolled down with no damage so the waiter apologized and said he thought it wouldn't work. But come on, use your words don't snatch food out of my hands!
Rooms: we were assigned a room that had a connecting door - with very noisy neighbors when we arrived. When we went to reception to ask about alternatives, they sometimes ignored us for a good 3-5 minutes to speak to other guests. It took them 15 minutes to tell us that they have no rooms, which I don't really trust because we only booked the room the night before and it looked like there were lots left and not 'overbooked' as they claimed. They even called 30 minutes later when we were about to nap, to ask if there's noise even though they repeated again on the phone that THEY DON'T HAVE ANY ROOMS.
As you can see, terrible experience with the staff but the weather was great and we enjoyed the beach/pool facilities so the rest of the encounters didn't affect the trip as much as you'd expect.response / report this review -

My five stars goes for InterContinental Abu Dhabi. Simply excellent hotel whether for you go for business trip or leisure. Hotel has good location and enjoable facilities like pool and private beach. Rooms are modern, clean and sized enough with nice view to Abu Dhabi skyline, breakfast superb. Hotel is fine for families with kids. Cost are average for the InterContinental stadart.

A very good hotel, recently refurbished. The hotel is placed at a walking distance to Emirates Palace, Marina Mall, Heritage Village, public beach, Cornish road, Etihad Towers. The private beach is small but cozy. The fish market restaurant offering daily a large variety of sea food and drinks.

Beautiful Lobby for a cup of coffee and or a meal. The Hotel is a landmark in Abu Dhabi and has many attractive restaurants to try out. It is a 5 Star with the services they offer.

Superb rooms, large toilets with bathtub, fresh flowers on the room, overlooking the city was a very good site especially at night. Foods in the restaurant was delicious and many to choose from. Considering its just adjacent to DFC is also a plus. Best hotel we've been to! If have the chance again would love to spend it here!

Grand and beautiful. Also attached are a number of cafes and bars offering good ambience and a great time - Presseco Bar, Belgian cafe, etc! Happy hour also available at some of them to get the evening started.
Held our work end of year party at the Intercontinental for about 600people and you could barely tell. Well coordinated, good location, good parking and polite staff. Food was fresh and delicious.response / report this review -

Excellent location, proximity to the shopmall, the service is good, the quality is excellent, the service and cleaning of the rooms is excellent, the staff is friendly, the clean beach is good, the choice of drinks and cocktails is excellent, the choice of dishes in the restaurant is excellent! Everything is very beautiful !!!!

Oldies but goodies. Nice hotel with posh decoration and good restaurants, bars and view. Definitely an excellent spot where to spend an afternoon or evening dining, wining and chatting.

I truly appreciate the wonderful service during my extended stay here. From the kind and timely housekeeping (Saleem), the Selections brunch service to the polite concierge, bellboys and room service. Well kept beach, pool, gym and the like. I truly enjoyed my stay and plan on staying here again in the near future. Inshallah.🙏

Stayed here for a week for a wedding; the hotel is fantastic and employees go above and beyond. We got massages at the spa, used the fitness centre, and I even got my beard trimmed at the in hotel barber. The rooms are immaculate even coming with a pillow menu. The outdoor pool, beach, and multiple restaurants including a hookah bar are amazing .

This is a very good and classic hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and ansious to help to make a pleasure your stay.
The rooms are big. The facilities of the hotel are great, like: the swimming pools next to the beach and the one in the hotel itself, the fine restaurants and its night club, its marina, the relaxing beach, its huge gym.
The breakfast buffet is huge and plenty of delicious food.
The location of the hotel is superb.
I suggest the owners to invest in the old bathrooms refurbishment and to make the parking bigger.
Said that, I recommend this hotel since my experience was extremely good and I'll be back for sureresponse / report this review -

I visited with my family for a brunch at the hotel, which meant you get to eat anything inthe 5 hotels on one tab which was amazing and you should try. Now what I loved most was the ambience and the different cuisines they offered, i got to try a few new ones like the octopus😅, but to top it up the service was terrible. Most of the Waitstaff seem to be racist because they gave us crappy service, I remember one pilipino guy who was 'partly taking our order' as if we needed them all on our table and reasons been cause we are black! Mind you he took time with other guests but not us. AnywaysThat was the down part of it but I loved it everything else.

Old but wonderful hotel with super friendly and helpful staff!
The pool is great, the private beach is even better.
So many good restaurants to choose from and the views at night are amazing.
I can absolutely recommend to book the club lounge access. The staff there is so kind and welcoming and the whole package is really worth the money.
