Becoming too expensive. Had four beers last week for over 100 bucks. Service is very slow have to wait for over twenty minutes to sometimes get waiter or waitress attention. Things are changing there but not for the better.

The Zoo Lake Bowls club is a great place to get a drink with friends in the afternoon, with a lovely view and seating outside. It's inexpensive and it's an old Johannesburg institution. Was closed for some time, and it has been renovated and reopened but feels pretty much the same as ever: cheap drinks, greasy bar food, drunk students and plastic chairs.

Zoo Lake Bowling Club is a gem hidden away in the corner of Zoo Lake. The pub come resturant attracts a myriad of people from teens to queens to familys looking for good food and probably the best price you can find it.

The Bowling Club does need to pay attention to service by way of delivery of orders. Beers get brought to the table fast, which im not complaining about but the food is slow so make sure you go there with some patience.

Good honest pub food at very reasonable prices like bangers and mash at around R30.00, Steak Egg Chips around R45.00 etc huge helpings ..you definitely don't go away hungry..well worth a visit.
