Friendly staff, good thin base seafood pizza however no prawns, I didn't complain cause it looked like they substituted it with mussles which was okay with me. Met friendly locals there. The place is not pretentious and you can be yourself. Maybe as time goes by the service will be faster, although it was still acceptable. I heard it was under new management.

If I could give them negative stars I would. Sushi was put by the hot bar and was warm when it arrives, the prawn tower had no prawn (it was basically a salad), and out of about 10 desserts only 2 were available. I decided on the cheesecake with lime coulies, and they brought me cheesecake drenched in what tasted like soda stream. Google what coulies is before putting it on your menu. Disgusted. At least your chips were average.

Zanzibar is a nice place to go mid-week with family to get that "going out" feel. The food is average at best, the service is painfully slow and not much is done to ensure a warm temperature in cold weather. Despite all these criticisms, the place does have a couple of saving graces, one of which is a their delicious, creamy mussel pot served with toasted bread.

Food is great service not existent. Managers need training. Get your mindset straight to wait a long time for good food.

Very affordable restaurant, great food - it's all about the flavour !!!!
    Casual / relaxed ambiance.
ps. The music in the upstairs pub, can be loud at times.
My favourite eatery in Amanzimtoti !!!

It's a gem, but is run terribly! Food is oily and definitely no fresh prawns in sight, we had to wander around to get to a chef, who then had to tell a waitress to help us! No idea where 'management' was!? Needs help! Just because you're close to the beach doesn't mean you can slack! People are still paying for a service, isn't it? Why go somewhere, and pay, if you can do it slightly better at home..
