This is a very special place. Can't wait to go back
Our best holiday ever in greatest lodge in Garden route. Mr Albert & Mrs Tersia Hoffman hospitality is admirable. They go extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. The lodge is perfectly furnished, decorated and well positioned in Wilderness. Beautiful place and Great accommodation. Will recommend to everybody and will visit again.
XANADU IS A EXZELLENT, BEAUTIFUL AND VERY, VERY FRIENDY GUEST VILLA MIT A LOVELY VIEW❤❤❤❤❤
What a lovely retreat! The rooms are very spacious and tastefully decorated. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. Not forget to mention that the villa has it's own stairs leading to the beach. You could not ask for more!!!
Must try if you go to wilderness wonderful experience ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Excellent guest house - very friendly, very comfortable. Beautiful view. Will go there again!!!
Despite the lovely house and gorgeous room we booked for our wedding weekend, the owner/manager made it so uncomfortable and negative. Inhospitable like I've never experienced. Absolutely regret booking xanadu.
I asked if the bridal party could come in earlier than check in time, so the make-up crew can help us get ready. They said it's cool, if our room isn't ready they'll assign us another temporary room.
We got there the morning of the wedding went to the room, the man/owner came to the room to tell us we're not allowed to smoke, I replied that none of us smoked. At this point I thought it was silly, but I understood that it's business.
Next my bridesmaids asked if they could borrow robes to get ready in. Good Lord, what a horrible thing to have done. The owner complied and then proceeded to tell us that the robes cost R1000/$90 EACH, and we shouldn't get make-up on it. Fine, not that it looks or feels like R1000, but fine the make-up artists are professional after all, it's not like they will mess on the robes that should be in the wedding pictures.
I was also given a completely different set of towels to use for my bath, because I "shouldn't use the things in the room." We weren't asked if we wanted something to drink, until one of the make-up artists dragged someone in with some juice.
So after that, about 5 different people, at different times, from the bridal party and make-up crew came into the room and complained about how the owner hammered them about not getting make-up on the robes. Seriously, 5 times while I was getting ready for my wedding day, I was confronted about this owner's concern about bath robes.
So after the bridal party left and my dad came to help me with a last few things in my room, the owner just barged into our room "Oh I thought you left" and he closed the door behind him.
This was such an awkward and uncomfortable experience. For the price I paid I didn't expect the sun and earth, but goodness they were inhospitable! Even the maids were rude when we arrived.
I dreaded going back there after the wedding, I would have, honest to God, rather spent my wedding night on my uncle's farm with my family then go to Xanadu. I rushed my husband out of there the day of check out, we skipped brushing our teeth just to leave ASAP. Because God forbid that we check out late.
Once again, looks aren't everything. Gorgeous place, but the people there are the worst! "But don't judge the Garden Route based on these people, most of us are nice!" said my make-up artist.
PS. The food was nice too.
Tot in de puntjes verzorgd guesthouse met zeer vriendelijke staff en eigenaars, zeker een aanrader!
Hier voel je je de koning te rijk!
Great place! Beautiful rooms with fantastic views of the sea!
Do not miss it. I injoy my honeymoon here. Very friendly owners and he is available all the time
To Albert and the crew. One of the very best places I have ever stayed. Thanks a million
