Had such high expectations for this restaurant, but we were so disappointed. The staff were so unhelpful and didn’t take us through the menu properly or help us with food recommendations. The menu itself was also not very explanatory. The food was underwhelming and bland, especially the starter.

The only positive part of the experience was the friendly staff at the wine tasting section. Very friendly and very helpful.

We had an amazing experience at Waterkloof’s restaurant! We went for the degustation menu with wine pairing. The food is creative and most of the dishes served were delicious (Egg 63 is my personal favourite). The view from the restaurant is fantastic (ask for a table by the window) and we loved the overall ambience of the place. We liked the wines as well, although the whites are definitely better then rose and red. Hoping to be back one day!

Waterkloof is a very modern space with spectacular views of False Bay and Sir Lowry’s Pass. The restaurant is set in a modern glass and steel building located at the highest point of the vineyard. Big windows allow for plenty natural light to flow in.

When going to Waterkloof you can choose between a six course tasting menu (which the entire table has to order) or any dish from a carefully designed a la carte menu.

I have to say we had our sons 21 st at what can only be described as one of the most beautiful spaces in the world with the best staff and service I have ever experienced. The food which had to be a set menu due to the amount of people was some of the best we have experienced anywhere in the world. You simply have to go there it is a must.

Very professional wine tasting assistance, with top quality (Tim Atkin 90+) ratings for most of the wines. The setting is what puts this place over the top. In the same space as a fine dining restaurant with an open kitchen so you can see magic being created. Nice fireplace with premium blankets provided and the tastings are served in Riedel glasses. Very hard to fault anything. The view is exquisite.

Beautiful venue, decor and view. Warm fireplace. Exceptionally rude staff at wine tasting area. Attempted to do a wine-tasting (17/06/17) with a number of people and was met with staff unable to make eye contact, smile or help.
Edit: Waterkloof has gone out of their way to rectify the situation, it is extremely pleasant to see management that genuinely care about customers and their good name. I suspect my next visit will be a pleasant one.

Me and a group of friends wanted to enjoy a wine tasting at this beautiful venue as part of my birthday weekend (17/6/2017). Arriving at Waterkloof, I have never felt so unwelcome in my life. The looks we got from staff reminded me of "something the cat dragged in". Staff were not accommodating at all and we ended up leaving for another wine farm where we received excellent service (and spent a lot of money). In these tough economic times, I cannot believe how Waterkloof did not want our business and especially the exposure, seeing as it was our first time visiting. I will never go back there and will definitely not recommend the place to anyone I know. #Horribleservice

Follow up: After engaging in conversation with the owner, our bad experience was transformed into a good one. We appreciate the commitment to rectify negative experiences (as per above) and to maintain client loyalty. We received a lovely 'goodies bag' with wine and snacks from their Deli which we will surely enjoy! Thank you Jannik and Zandri for your excellent service. We will definitely come and visit soon :)

I visited the wine tasting venue at Waterkloof twice over the last two weeks. Service was excellent and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The wines are great, but the views are even better. I highly recommend their platters while sipping on the wines.

The degustation menu at Waterkloof's restaurant is a must for food aficianados. The chef has managed to match the excellent estate wine to the creative dishes. The monkfish dish and the karan beef are simply world class, and the accompanying red wines were sublime. Although we are not fans of white wine, we nevertheless could appreciate the flavours when paired with the dishes. Will definitely go back and take our visitors there!
