Well kept grounds, neat and beautiful. Very peaceful atmosphere. Monument was recently restored. Looks like a great place to have a picnic under one of the old Wild Olive trees.
Piece of our history that gives one the courage to grow in oneself and to believe in our God the Almighty.
Great spot for a Sunday picnic or chill session
The visit made me sad, there was also some anger at the lives lost, how many of those children could have made something from life, fortunately the survivors went on and with forgiveness a country was rebuild. From the site I learned a lot, also about the large number of black people who passed away sort of unnoticed in black concentration camps, somehow this history got lost and people don't know about it.
Recently refurbished. The monument is a tribute to those who died in the British concentration camps during the Anglo Boer War.
Awsome awsome!
Questionable but quite pretty.
Most interesting. really enjoyed it.
The sculptured family group deeply depict the sorrow experienced by the thousands of woman, children and old people driven from their homes into concentration camps during the Anglo Boer War 1899 to 1902.
Great use of the area. Many memorial walls
You can take beautiful photos here
Great cultural monument.
Learn all about the Anglo Boer war. The museum has an immense amount of information and displays available to make you an expert. I learn so much about the battles, the life of the South Africans during the war and the turmoil caused by the battles on civilians. Go if you have lots of time on your hands.
It was an eye opening history experience
