Great place to go camp in a tent or caravan. Even just to go spend a day to relax is great. It is clean and neat ,even the toilets :-) .
Booking was easy and the facilities neat and clean. We stayed in a Chalet for 3 nights. The views are amazing and you can walk to the beach and lagoon within only a couple minutes. Awesome weekend.
Nice to relax as a weekend camper. Didn't had a outdoor power connector but could get it from the office for a deposit. Bathrooms neat and clean. always friendly campers around. Convenient drive from Port Elizabeth.
Camp sites were amazing but the ablutions were disgusting. There were people blaring music until the early hours of the morning which was terrible, especially if you trying to relax. Our child was constantly woken up by the noise. They do not enforce there own rules. We were there between Christmas and New year's. They will never see us again, well at least not in season. It's a pity as it is such a beautiful place /area.
Very relaxing atmosphere. Strict rules for day campers that cannot enter the chalets areas thus committee privacy if you're booked in. ⛺ tent sights too.
Situated at the Van Stadens river mouth right where it meets the ocean. Beautiful white huge sand dunes
Was very nice at van Stadens. Beautiful beaches. Kids can play safely. No noise. I love the day out.
Great camping venue, nice clean ablusion blocks, hot showers, marked camp sites and friendly staff.
Very beautiful setting.
Bathrooms need some attention
Great facilities
Quiet, out of the way, miles of dunes and the ocean with a pleasant lagoon for swimming. Such a tidy campsite and chalets.
A beautiful camping site on a river mouth with the beach and dunes within 5 minutes walk with activities for all. The weather did not play along when I was there so only 2 pics
Good place to break away & relax. The river mouth is a great place to swim in with paddle boats & canoes Rondavels are nice & clean with sports channels. Butiful stretch of beach to take long walks & a huge dune to climb out with a great view of the resort.
Great resort. Play area for kids. Brazil facilities. Tables for picnics. Paddle boats and kayaks to rent. Beautiful scenery.
Nice weekend way but still close to PE
Although it has a lagoon with paddle boats and canoes there isn't much else to do. The sea is very tough in this area and is very dangerous to swim here. The shop that sells goods is very expensive and stocks very little food. Entry is charged per vehicle and there is a cut off time for day campers.
This is a beautiful location with an amazing beach and sea for swimming and a nice lagoon. The bird life is incredible. BUT
The ablution blocks are old and tired and need to be renovated. They are not cleaned regularly and when the cleaners do bother to visit they just squirt some chemicals and leave. The toilets and showers are pretty disgusting.
Day visitors flock into the site from early morning and drink and party all day screaming and shouting, even in the middle of the week. If you want to relax by your tent or caravan and enjoy the sounds of nature, forget it!! Also there is a sign on the shop saying it's only open on weekends but when the hordes of day visitors arrive, hey presto the shop is magically open.
The owner told us 'I can't complain' meaning they are making loads of cash (especially from the day visitors) but obviously they can't be bothered to spend money on maintenance. They charge R500 for 2 people per night to camp in a tent which I think is a rip-off.
We won't be going back.
Great for caravanning, camping and fishing. Large beach for walks, sand dunes for sandboarding. Shop very basic no bait or liquor available.
