Not so great with my first experience over the telephone, am sure they can train their staff to help people better than putting the phone down on you.
I know the lodge is excellent stayed there before.
    thanks Dave

You will see animals, and not just the big 5. Good food and good service. Deserves the 5 star rating.

Our stay at Thornybush Waterside Lodge was the biggest highlight in our trip to South Africa. Great hospitality. Our Ranger and Tracker were very good and found the big 5 for us. Really amazing experience.

5 star spa treatments, delicious food and accommodation with brilliant views. Amazing morning and night game drives. Saw the big 5 within hours, very skilled trackers and rangers. Peaceful and tranquil bush retreat.

The main lodge has very nice suites although not insect free it has view to the bush and it is beautiful.
The food is nice and the service is impeccable.
The safari tours are amazing with many animals to see every day. We saw wild dogs trying to attack a small wildebeest which was defended successful by the herd, cheetah and its cubs, leopards, lions and all the rest.

We celebrated the beginning our honeymoon at the Waterside Lodge within Thornybush Game Reserve and loved every minute!

Getting up at 5:30 has never been so fun and exciting. I feel the cold and so was relieved when the guys had already thought ahead and prepared hot water bottles and blankets.
Then stopping off for hot chocolate and snacks in the bush then wine and snacks for sunset was incredible.
The dinner we had was delicious and the staff were great!
The drivers were super knowledgeable and we got to see the BIG 5 numerous times!
To top it all off we returned home to a candlelit dinner on our terrace with sparkling wine and a rose petal bath. Cannot recommend enough!

We landed on their own private plane strip. What a sight to behold and see wild game in their natural environment. Their game rangers really know their stuff. Saw the big five. I would love to come back here again.

Best bang of the buck, we did 4 drives, one in early Am and one in early evening for animal activity. The guides were so good. During the day, it was so peacefult o relax and see animals abound nearby. Very safe.

Stayed at River Lodge and had a great time. Dan and John were exceptional rangers and we saw all the Big 5 in 2 days. Adi and his brilliant meals were also a highlight. Thanks to all.
