Amazing place. Amazing people. Fantastic game viewing. Great food and just the right amount (you'll never go hungry). Rooms are very spacious and bathroom is fantastic including jet bath as well as massive inside and outside showers. I can highly recommend this lodge!

The accommodations, guided tours, meals, staff and just it's vibe are wonderful. We stayed for three nights here after spending three nights in Kruger park proper. Stark difference. Price seemed steep initially, but now recommend three to four night stay. Enjoy!

The Kambaku River Sands is a wonderful safari lodge in the heart of Timbavati. When we arrived at the River Sands, we instantly fell in love. From the moment you arrive your african safari dream start becoming a reality. When the door is opened for you to enter into your luxury room, your instantly indulged by the elegant decor, cleanliness, amenities and views. A few wild elephants where roaming the premises directly in front of our room upon arriving. There are three methods to shower with either cold or nice hot water, in a jacuzzi tub, shower glass stall or outside in a private setting with open view of the bush with possibilities of watching a family of elephants passing by, or possibility of watching a giraffe crossing your scenic view of the bush through reinforced glass as you relax into a bubble bath, both we experienced during our stay. The staff are all hospitable, respectable and friendly. The spa experience was amazing, perfect for mid day relaxation in between morning and afternoon safari drives. The food, wine cellar and dining experience will impress.The reserve itself is magical, we viewed the big five up close in person and had the privilege of coming face to face with one of less than 13 wild white lions in the planet. Whether you are celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, photoshoot or any reason you wish to experience the wild in the mother land of natural wonders, my family and I recommend Kambaku River Sands. You will not regret making this your only destination or part of your safari package. Two things to note, WIFI is available 24/7 and is impressively fast inside your room and general area of the lodge premisses, also the staff provide complimentary bug repellant inside the rooms, one less bulk and weight to worry about in your travel luggage. We already are planning our return for 2016. Thank you Kambaku River Sands for touching our hearts and for your dedication to the protection of wildlife and the bush. I expressed we rather not tell anyone about your reserve so to keep it all to ourselves, but you deserve great recognition. LM
