We decided to visit the Sedgefield Arms for their R 60 'Pensioner's Lunch'.

It's certainly advisable to book in advance as we found the restaurant to be pleasingly full!

It's a 2 course meal, with a large glass of white or red wine on arrival.

Our main meal consisted of home-made Fish Cakes with a tasty sauce on mashed potato, with buttered cabbage and sweet butternut.

Dessert was ice cream boats with a red berry sauce.

Well worth a visit!

Always have an excellent meal there, real good value for money! Wine list and pub prices one of the most reasonable in Sedgefield.
Warm and cosy in winter with lovely outside seating area's for hot summer days. Great management with lovely friendly and humorous staff.
Excellent pub and pensioners are spoilt.

I had a really nice time at Sedgefield Arms a month or so ago. It's clean, the host was friendly and free wifi. It's close to most/all amenities, although it is Sedgefield. The place is tiny and just about nothing to do.
However, that's possibly the best selling point of Sedgefield. It's quaint and quiet. It's the perfect retreat from the city.

The only let down about Sedbergh Arms were the awful beds. They were uncomfortably hard.

Comfortable self catering rooms with good pub-style restaurant and bar downstairs. Food was good. Only drawback was temperamental WiFi and no plug socket next to beds for charging phones.

Comfortable bar which is well stocked and an excellent restaurant which is open from breakfast to evening meals 7 days a week in tourist season (closes early out of season on Sundays ). Staff are sociable and courteous. Caters for private functions.
