Although I was not quite ready for recovery at my time at the house I must say that the Living house is a kind, gentle and homely environment. The owner Kyle is an extremely generous man, and there is no “money-hungry” energy that unfortunately exists at most similar institutions.

I want to specially note that one of the staff members, Mary Anne, is one of the most amazing, caring and inspiring woman in recovery that I have ever met. She showed me so much compassion and understanding and has become someone I deeply respect. Some of the residents clash with her because she is impossible to lie to and is not afraid to speak her mind. Attending certain NA meetings showed me that she is well known and respected amongst the recovery community in Cape Town as a whole.
