It's a good place to visit especially with kids. Nice place for picnic's.
A good experience. Lots of interesting shops- gift, historical goodies, museum and a restaurant well worth a visit! We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday buffet there recently - 5 different meats and about 10 vegie dishes to choose from. Plus 3 desserts. Definitely going again-R140pp.
A great location that dives deep into the fledgling mining industry in South Africa, with a beautiful steamtrain on the terrain. A great buffet with a very nice hostess, and a look into the lives of people in the 1800's.
Nice to visit, and if you combine it with a lunch, it's worth a small detour to Dundee!
Great trip down memory lane I especially liked the trading store
Excellent range of battlefield books in the store which are not found anywhere else.
Enjoyed the Museum but preferred going to the different battlefields sites. Their mining and glass exhibits are 2nd to none. Really interesting morning spent here with my boys. Get card machines
For a town as small as Dundee it was a surprise to find a museum this big. The museum covers mining, battles, cultures, beads, glass and general area history. There is a restaurant which serves a very enjoyable meal and also a curio/museum shop. The place is well maintained and the staff are friendly. A really nice half day out. While I was there at least 3 groups of young learners came through the museum as well. Definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Was so surprised to find such a good museum in a small town like Dundee. The curator Pam did an awesome job making various topics interesting, particularly how South Africa was involved in WWI and other various wars around the area. We spent more than five hours there just try to take all the information in. Highly recommend this place!
It's educative abt the history of battlefields route .Zulu culture
Good food good historic place well maintained
Best museum in the province
Lovely museum, so much to see. Spent 4 hours there.
Serene surroundings, historical, .
A must visit. Go out of your way if you need to.
Absolute gem of a museum. Whether coal mining, glass, or the Anglo Boer War tickles your fancy, this rich testament to South Africa's history is a cultural joy to visit.
